Luk 6:3 ASV - And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read even this, what David did, when he was hungry, he, and they that were with him;
Luk 6:4 ASV - how he entered into the house of God, and took and ate the showbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests alone?
Luk 6:5 ASV - And he said unto them, The Son of man is lord of the sabbath.
David went into the house of God and broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests can eat. He also gave some to his companions."
Luk 6:5 ASV - And he said unto them, The Son of man is lord of the sabbath.
I believe an important truth is here a shadow of better things to come. As for David he was hungry as was his men , he also knew Gods mercy and loving kindness David broke the written Law but he saw a greater law the law of liberty , Did he sin and cause his men to sin also lets look, David in the spirit saw the law of grace he even sang psalms of the messiah and wrote of his love. It was Gods Law not mans law it was given to men by God David saw the messiah in his psalms. He knew God and ever faithful word of truth he saw two covenants and he knew Jesus was lord of the sabbath. So David was going to trust himself with the one he loved his father Jehovah God. David had spiritual insight and the spirit of God was on him remember God would speak to David and David would inquire of God and the Lord would answer . Notice Jesus said the Son Of Man is Lord of the Sabbath. David was not breaking the Law he was fulfilling it he was eating the unleavened bread of life. The spirit of Gods word is ever working here, In the days of Abraham Gal 3:8 ASV - And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand unto Abraham, [saying,] In thee shall all the nations be blessed. The key word here is Foreseeing in the
| Greek: proeidon |
Foresee, Foreseen:
an aorist tense form without a present, "to foresee," is used of David, as foreseeing Christ, in Act 2:31, RV, "foreseeing" (AV, "seeing before"); in Gal 3:8, it is said of the Scripture, personified, personal activity being attributed to it by reason of its Divine source (cp. ver. 22). "What saith the Scripture?" was a common formula among the Rabbis. In the Sept., Gen 37:18; Psa 16:8 (proorao); 139:3.

Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: Jhn 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day; and he saw it, Gala 3-8 and was glad. David was a man born out of time he saw Jesus also and was glad. Jesus did not say David broke the Law except he be a priest ( which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests alone?) 2Sa 6:14 ASV - And David danced before Jehovah with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
2Sa 6:15 ASV - So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of Jehovah with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. David worshiped God And that Ark contained the Rod of Aaron (ministers of God) the rod of correction , The law the shadow of grace and the manna in a golden jar Gold being a type or presents of God so the word was God and Christ was that manna that came down from heaven . David saw the Messiah in all this and he was glad. Do you see here what he did spiritually he put down every thing that was of the world he stripped himself of his kingly garments his crown his natural power it says somewhere he danced naked before the Lord. He was wearing an ephod he was a priest, God made David what he was. Rev 3:7 ASV - And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and none shall shut, and that shutteth and none openeth: Jesus says he has the key of David and that key was a heart a perfect heart before God . God is calling many Davids to restore the kingdom of God . Jhn 4:23 ASV - But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers.
Jhn 4:24 ASV - God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
1Cr 15:24 ASV - Then [cometh] the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.
Jesus is that promise and the light of Gods word he was that shadow that type to come of Gods Love the fulfilling of Gods law.
Greek: arrabon
Earnest (Noun):
originally, "earnest-money" deposited by the purchaser and forfeited if the purchase was not completed, was probably a Phoenician word, introduced into Greece. In general usage it came to denote "a pledge" or "earnest" of any sort; in the NT it is used only of that which is assured by God to believers; it is said of the Holy Spirit as the Divine "pledge" of all their future blessedness, 2Cr 1:22; 5:5; in Eph 1:14, particularly of their eternal inheritance. In the Sept., Gen 38:17, 18, 20. In modern Greek arrabona is an "engagement ring."
Can you see here the earnest applies only to those that receive it. You are bought with a price you are not your own any longer you are married to another the word says 1Cr 7:39 A wife is bound for so long time as her husband liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is free to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. Looking at this in the spirit not the letter the woman is the church the bride to be the husband that is dead is the old law the letter of the law. 2Cr 5:17 Wherefore if any man is in Christ, [he is] a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new. But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation. I speak not only of the Law given by Moses but also the Law of men and there flesh , apostate laws that bind men up and put heavy burdens on them. Gal 1:9 As we have said before, so say I now again, if any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema. The real gospel that delivers and heals that has power over all the enemy power to cast out devils to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover
Mar 16:17 And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen. THIS IS THE CHURCH TRIUMPHANT church means the called out ones. Act 2:38 And Peter [said] unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him. EVEN AS MANY AS THE LORD GOD SHALL CALL. How far is those that a far off , today my friend its just as alive today as it was at that moment . God is still pouring out his spirit to those that ask. Do not let anything or any one take your crown. Rev 3:11 I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no one take thy crown. a crown
a) a mark of royal or (in general) exalted rank
1) the wreath or garland which was given as a prize to victors in public games
b) metaph. the eternal blessedness which will be given as a prize to the genuine servants of God and Christ: the crown (wreath) which is the reward of the righteousness
c) that which is an ornament and honour to one
1Ti 2:6 who gave himself a ransom for all; the testimony [to be borne] in its own times; what is given in exchange for another as the price of his redemption, ransom.
