The Wise And The Foolish
Mat 25:1 ASV - Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
It seems that the virgins were aware of the times they were living in and were waiting for the coming of the bridegroom their Lord . Now Jesus is comparing the kingdom of Heaven in a parable to the faithfulness of the virgins. Waiting for the bridegroom . Now I see that the lamps in this parable is a type something giving light . Mat 6:22 ASV - The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Mat 25:2 ASV - And five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
Wise Greek: phronimos
Wise, Wiser, Wisely:
"prudent, sensible, practically wise," Mat 7:24; 10:16; 24:45; 25:2, 4, 8, 9; Luk 12:42; 16:8 (comparative degree, phronimoteros); 1Cr 10:15; in an evil sense, "wise (in your own conceits)," lit., "wise (in yourselves)," i.e., "judged by the standard of your self-complacency," Rom 11:25; 12:16
Now foolish is the opposite of wise this is speaking of a knowing in their hearts of something pending, something to be very watchful for. Ye are the salt of the earth , salt is a reminder of our covenant with the Lord our redemption through his sacrifice . Being wise and prudent letting your speech be with salt. metaphorically, of "believers," Mat 5:13 (1st part); of their "character and condition," Mar 9:50 (2nd part); of "wisdom" exhibited in their speech, Col 4:6.
Being possessed of purifying, perpetuating and antiseptic qualities, "salt" became emblematic of fidelity and friendship among eastern nations. To eat of a person's "salt" and so to share his hospitality is still regarded thus among the Arabs. So in Scripture, it is an emblem of the covenant between God and His people, Num 18:19; 2Ch 13:5; so again when the Lord says "Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace one with another" (Mar 9:50). In the Lord's teaching it is also symbolic of that spiritual health and vigor essential to Christian virtue and counteractive of the corruption that is in the world, e.g., Mat 5:13, see (b) above. Food is seasoned with "salt" (see B); every meal offering was to contain it, and it was to be offered with all offerings presented by Israelites, as emblematic of the holiness of Christ, and as betokening the reconciliation provided for man by God on the ground of the death of Christ, Lev 2:13. To refuse God's provision in Christ and the efficacy of His expiatory sacrifice is to expose oneself to the doom of being "salted with fire," Mar 9:49.
Mat 25:4 ASV - but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Oil is a type of the Holy Ghost , the spirit of God OIL Greek: elaion (a) for lamps, in which the "oil" is a symbol of the Holy Spirit, Mat 25:3, 4, 8; Vessels Greek: skeuos of "persons,"
Of your body being the temple of the Holy Ghost. the exhortation to each one "to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor" is regarded by some as referring to the believer's body . It is important to note that vessels of that day in most cases were made of clay as is our bodies. And the Oil is a type of the spirit of God
Jdg 7:16 ASV - And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put into the hands of all of them trumpets, and empty pitchers, with torches within the pitchers. Jdg 7:19 ASV - So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outermost part of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch, when they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake in pieces the pitchers that were in their hands.
Jdg 7:20 ASV - And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the torches in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands wherewith to blow; and they cried, The sword of Jehovah and of Gideon. The victory is with God for God to show his power he had to reduce Gideon forces down to nothing. Gideon started with thousands and end up with three hundred . God told Paul in your weakness I am made strong . The Lord Told Moses when they were traveling away from Egypt ,Exo 14:2 and the Egyptians were in pursuit of them Moses took them another way another way the way God told him into the valley. And it put the people in a place of no escape they were trapped. But God did it to show his power and love for his people. So it was with Gideon the enemy were many thousands and they were hundreds. Now your body the vessels in verse 16 he put in their left hands a trumpet an empty clay pitcher and torches. Now the the trumpet is the voice the spirit of God , The pitcher is your vessel your body and the torches were the light of Gods word in you. Now the only way they were to get the victory was to do exactly as they were told. And at the appointed time they blew the trumpets, and brake in pieces the pitchers that held the torches . Now the pitcher is a type of our flesh or bodies made of earth just as the vessel holding the oil for the virgins. And the torches are the spirit of God in you . The pitcher is a type of our flesh and to let it be broken and allow the light to come forth out of us. Luk 8:16 ASV - And no man, when he hath lighted a lamp, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but putteth it on a stand, that they that enter in may see the light.
2Cr 4:7 KJV - But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
2Pe 1:19 KJV - We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts Mar 14:38 ASV - Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Mat 25:5 ASV - Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
2Pe 3:3 ASV - knowing this first, that in the last days mockers shall come with mockery, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3:4 ASV - and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
While the Lord tarries in his coming , it says many are called but few are chosen now the calling of God is his calling way into the future if he desires. There is a perfect plan of God and only he knows its not if he comes, he will come again. We have great opportunity right now to humble our self's unto the calling of God and with repentant hearts Jam 1:21 ASV - Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. Pro 4:23 ASV - Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life. This word was written for you it is Gods heart to you, How much does he Love you. Remember we are talking about wise and foolish virgins and it looks like the foolish were spiritually sleeping.
Mat 25:6 ASV - But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him.
1Th 5:2 ASV - For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. No man knows the day nor the hour of the coming of the Lord , The parable here is the thief comes while you are sleeping or not watching when people that are not watching and waiting they will least likely expect him. Remember there is the letter of the word and there is the spirit of the word. The natural and the spiritual .
Mat 25:7 ASV - Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Virgins metaphorically of "chaste persons," Rev 14:4. The bride of Christ the church The saints of God. The called, chosen and faithful. We see here that all ten arose and began to trim there Lamps . And in verse 5 it says they all slept. Now the number ten here in bible numerics
means Perfection in Order And the number 5 is the number of Grace the key word here is Trimming , to adorn,to make ones self acceptable beauty this is a righteous thing
Isa 61:10 ASV - I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with a garland, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
A robe of righteousness being clothed upon 2Cr 5:4 ASV - For indeed we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life. The garland Jesus will be wearing in that day will not be a crown of thorns but a victors crown. And the bride adorns herself with her jewels . You will notice it says her jewels it is something she has attained by her righteous living her jewels is speaking of her life her living her knowledge of Gods word and what is says about her its a matter of her heart before God she is rich in Gods eyes. Pro 8:11 ASV - For wisdom is better than rubies; And all the things that may be desired are not to be compared unto it. This world has nothing but heart ache and misery and DEATH .
Trimmed
Greek: kosmeo Trimming /of the lamp .
Adorn, Adorning:
primarily "to arrange, to put in order" (Eng., "cosmetic"), is used of furnishing a room, Mat 12:44; Luk 11:25, and of trimming lamps, Mat 25:7. Hence, "to adorn, to ornament," as of garnishing tombs, Mat 23:29; buildings, Luk 21:5; Rev 21:19; one's person, 1Ti 2:9; 1Pe 3:5; Rev 21:2; metaphorically, of "adorning a doctrine," Tts 2:10.
See GARNISH, TRIM. Now trimming is some thing ones does now at this very moment
Rom 12:1 ASV - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your spiritual service.
Rom 12:2 ASV - And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
The acceptable time of the Lord is now remember flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom
of God. So what will inherit Gods kingdom it says a living sacrifice you must start now it says and be not fashioned like the world but be TRANSFORMED . Greek: metamorphoo
Transfigure:
"to change into another form" (meta, implying change, and morphe, "form:" see FORM, No. 1), is used in the Passive Voice
(a) of Christ's "transfiguration," Mat 17:2; Mar 9:2; Luke (in Luk 9:29) avoids this term, which might have suggested to gentile readers the metamorphoses of heathen gods, and uses the phrase egeneto heteron, "was altered," lit., "became (ginomai) different (heteros);"
(b) of believers, Rom 12:2, "be ye transformed," the obligation being to undergo a complete change which, under the power of God, will find expression in character and conduct; morphe lays stress on the inward change, schema (see the preceding verb in that verse, suschematizo) lays stress on the outward (see FASHION, No. 3, FORM, No. 2); the present continuous tenses indicate a process; 2Cr 3:18 describes believers as being "transformed (RV) into the same image" (i.e., of Christ in all His moral excellencies), the change being effected by the Holy Spirit.
I envision a butterfly he starts out as a worm just like you and I, borne of the loins of Adam earthy earth bound. But something happens he begins to take on another transformation he is changing slowly but changing. We are wrapped in our cocoon of flesh and we are slowly changing as we let this word into our hearts and stay on our knees before the father being repentant which means changing ones mind. So this worm as God has intended for all his creation, he begins to take on this new transformation of a cocoon an outer shell, our flesh. And through time and testing he waits for his new body. And so do we 1Jo 3:2 ASV - Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.
Now manifested in Greek: phaneroo
Appear, Appearing:
akin to No. 1, signifies, in the Active Voice, "to manifest;" in the Passive Voice, "to be manifested;" so, regularly, in the RV, instead of "to appear." See 2Cr 7:12; Col 3:4; Hbr 9:26; 1Pe 5:4; 1Jo 2:28; 3:2; Rev 3:18. To be manifested, in the Scriptural sense of the word, is more than to "appear." A person may "appear" in a false guise or without a disclosure of what he truly is; to be manifested is to be revealed in one's true character; this is especially the meaning of phaneroo, see, e.g., Jhn 3:21; 1Cr 4:5; 2Cr 5:10, 11; Eph 5:13.
Rom 8:28 ASV - And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, [even] to them that are called according to [his] purpose.
Rom 8:29 ASV - For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren:
Gal 2:20 ASV - I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that [life] which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, [the faith] which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
1Cr 15:49 ASV - And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
2Cr 3:18 ASV - But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.
Col 3:10 ASV - and have put on the new man, that is being renewed unto knowledge after the image of him that created him:
Mat 25:8 ASV - And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out.
The sad part here is the door is about to close and so they say give us what you have There is a thing in the word called the foot tribunal 2Cr 5:10 ASV - For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things [done] in the body, according to what he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad.
Greek: bema
Judgment-Seat:
primarily, "a step, a pace" (akin to baino, "to go"), as in Act 7:5, translated "to set (his foot) on," lit., "foot-room," was used to denote a raised place or platform, reached by steps, originally that at Athens in the Pnyx Hill, where was the place of assembly; from the platform orations were made. The word became used for a tribune, two of which were provided in the law courts of Greece, one for the accuser and one for the defendant; it was applied to the tribunal of a Roman magistrate or ruler, Mat 27:19; Jhn 19:13; Act 12:21, translated "throne;" 18:12, 16, 17; 25:6, 10, 17.
In two passages the word is used of the Divine tribunal before which all believers are hereafter to stand. In Rom 14:10 it is called "The judgment seat of God," RV (AV, "of Christ"), according to the most authentic mss. The same tribunal is called "the judgment seat of Christ," 2Cr 5:10, to whom the Father has given all judgment, Jhn 5:22, 27. At this bema believers are to be made manifest, that each may "receive the things done in (or through) the body," according to what he has done, "whether it be good or bad." There they will receive rewards for their faithfulness to the Lord. For all that has been contrary in their lives to His will they will suffer loss, 1Cr 3:15. This judgment seat is to be distinguished from the premillennial, earthly throne of Christ, Mat 25:31, and the postmillennial "Great White Throne," Rev 20:11, at which only "the dead" will appear. The judgment-seat of Christ will be a tribunal held "in His Parousia," i.e., His presence with His saints after His return to receive them to Himself.
What this is saying is Col 2:6 ASV - As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk in him, Walking in the same path as Jesus, following him in all things Jhn 14:15 ASV - If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments. This is counting the cost ! it will cost you your life.
Mat 16:25 ASV - For whosoever would save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it. Remember the worm and his life changing event. Losing this old flesh for an incorruptible body 1Cr 15:52 ASV - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Mat 25:9 ASV - But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. The wise say we can not help you now it is time to go now, When the time was right and God was calling you and blessing you it wa than to fill your vessel with Gods spirit and be changed by the renewing of you mind. I ask the Lord about that word RENEWING Greek: anakainosis
Renew, Renewing (Verb and Noun):
akin to A, No. 1, "a renewal," is used in Rom 12:2, "the renewing (of your mind)," i.e., the adjustment of the moral and spiritual vision and thinking to the mind of God, which is designed to have a transforming effect upon the life; in Tts 3:5, where "the renewing of the Holy Spirit" is not a fresh bestowment of the Spirit, but a revival of His power, developing the Christian life; this passage stresses the continual operation of the indwelling Spirit of God; the Romans passage stresses the willing response on the part of the believer.
When I ask the Lord how do I renew my mind he spoke to my heart and said by my word the renewing comes through my word Rom 12:2 ASV - And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Tts 3:5 ASV - not by works [done] in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 25:10 ASV - And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were
ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut. When he comes and he receives his saints his bride to himself than I know no scripture for a second chance. God is full of mercy and loving kindness and he will have mercy on whom he will . But if his word is final for his saints than as you read on it is final for all.
Mat 25:11 ASV - Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
There is such a saying as getting right with God or making peace with God. Only one place in the word where that takes place that I know of , Its the thief on the cross Luk 23:42 ASV - And he said, Jesus, remember me when thou comest in thy kingdom. What we see is this man was hanging on a cross he had no way to go back and find his way to God. This is also true in baptism . People say baptism is not necessary look at the man on the cross . This is also in line with the foolish virgins we have plenty of time yet. Its just not baptism its repentance and its being filled with Gods spirit its renewing your mind by his word. Its grace and his gift of faith for God so loved you that if you believe with your heart that Jesus hung on your cross for you so you will not perish but have everlasting life. And the most important thing here my friend is you are not on a cross today.
Mat 25:12 ASV - But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Now the interpretation here for Know is just what it says he does not know you. I have read where it says I know not whose family you are from. So if we are children of God and he is our father than we belong to the family of God. Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: Jhn 1:13 ASV - who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
The moment you step into Gods kingdom he changes your spiritual DNA . But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: He gives you the right to become his child his spiritual child. So in the beginning we are born of our natural fathers in the flesh, but when you come to God you inter into his kingdom born not of blood or the will of the flesh your natural father or the will of man any longer. You are born again of his spirit and this is the promise Jesus spoke of you must be born of the water and of the spirit. The washing water of Gods word this word is the renewing of you mind washing you.
Jhn 15:3 ASV - Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you.
And the spirit is Jhn 16:13 ASV - Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, [these] shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.
Jhn 15:26 ASV - But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:
And Jesus told Nicodemus Jhn 3:3 ASV - Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Mat 25:13 ASV - Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.

Confession unto God
Hbr 11:6 ASV - And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [unto him]; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.
Rom 10:10 ASV - for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Greek: homologeo
Confess, Confession: " To speak the same as "
lit., "to speak the same thing" (homos, "same," lego, "to speak"), "to assent, accord, agree with," denotes,
(a) "to confess, declare, admit," Jhn 1:20; e.g., Act 24:14; Hbr 11:13;
(b) "to confess by way of admitting oneself guilty of what one is accused of, the result of inward conviction," 1Jo 1:9;
(c) "to declare openly by way of speaking out freely, such confession being the effect of deep conviction of facts," Mat 7:23; 10:32 (twice) and Luk 12:8 (see next par.); Jhn 9:22; 12:42; Act 23:8; Rom 10:9, 10 ("confession is made"); 1Ti 6:12 (RV); Tts 1:16; 1Jo 2:23; 4:2, 15; 2Jo 1:7
(d) "to confess by way of celebrating with praise," Hbr 13:15;
In Mat 10:32; Luk 12:8 the construction of this verb with en, "in," followed by the dative case of the personal pronoun, has a special significance, namely, to "confess" in a person's name, the nature of the "confession" being determined by the context, the suggestion being to make a public "confession." Thus the statement, "every one . . . who shall confess Me (lit., "in Me," i.e., in My case) before men, him (lit., "in him," i.e., in his case) will I also confess before My Father ...," conveys the thought of "confessing" allegiance to Christ as one's Master and Lord, and, on the other hand, of acknowledgment, on His part, of the faithful one as being His worshipper and servant, His loyal follower; this is appropriate to the original idea in homologeo of being identified in thought or language.
1Ti 6:12 ASV - Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.
1Ti 6:13 ASV - I charge thee in the sight of God, who giveth life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed the good confession;
Hbr 4:14 ASV - Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Hbr 10:23 ASV - let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised:
Hbr 13:15 ASV - Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name.
Amo 3:3 ASV - Shall two walk together, except they have agreed?
Jesus said if you confess me before men than I will confess you before my Father.
Luk 6:46 ASV - And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
He said if you love me you will obey my words Luk 6:47 ASV - Every one that cometh unto me, and heareth my words, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like:
The word of God has the power to save our souls James says , Jhn 6:54 ASV - He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jhn 6:55 ASV - For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
Jhn 6:56 ASV - He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him.
Jhn 6:57 ASV - As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live because of me. Eating his flesh is partaking of the word eating his word the bread of life and his blood is his very nature taking on the nature of Jesus Christ, producing the fruit of the spirit.
Lev 17:11 ASV - For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life.
The manna in the wilderness was a sign a shadow of the true , the children were in the wilderness and they had come to a place of total lack. No water no food and miles in the desert. The word says a rock follow them and gave them water. 1Cr 10:3 ASV - and did all eat the same spiritual food;
1Cr 10:4 ASV - and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ. The water being the pure word of God , the washing water of the word.
Jhn 6:58 ASV - This is the bread which came down out of heaven: not as the fathers ate, and died; he that eateth this bread shall live for ever. The bread of life the living bread and he is speaking of this great word being alive in you and when we confess his word and walk in it we agree that it is true. And then we walk as he walked. With out the spirit of God in you the promise Jesus spoke of , being endued with power the Holy Spirit power . The word speaks of men holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power therefore. The only way God can work in us is by the power of his spirit in us , changing the intents of the heart and the thoughts of the mind cutting all the way to the morrow of our bones.
Jhn 15:7 ASV - If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
The two walking together is you and the word of God, is you life indicative of your walk. The word says so as you have received the lord Jesus so walk ye in him. The Greek word confess has every thing to do with your life . Confess to speak the same thing" (homos, "same," lego, "to speak"), "to assent, accord, agree with," Hbr 8:5 ASV - who serve [that which is] a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses is warned [of God] when he is about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern that was showed thee in the mount.
Hbr 8:6 ASV - But now hath he obtained a ministry the more excellent, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which hath been enacted upon better promises.
Jesus brought the better promises , Do we know what are the promises of God to us by faith. Every thing Christ did while he was on the earth was God in him he was doing the works. Jesus said the words that I speak they are of the father for God was in Christ bringing reconciliation to you and I .
Hbr 4:12 ASV - For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. So Jesus said if you confess me , saying yes to his word and no to the world . You must have the fulness of the Holy Ghost for this word to be alive and working in you. There is a baptism of the spirit not just a few words spoken no it is an experience that will change your life for ever it is a promise from God . The moment Paul heard them speak he heard their confession Act 19:1 ASV - And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper country came to Ephesus, and found certain disciples:
Act 19:3 ASV - And he said, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John's baptism.
Act 19:4 ASV - And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him that should come after him, that is, on Jesus.
Act 19:5 ASV - And when they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
Act 19:6 ASV - And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Act 19:7 ASV - And they were in all about twelve men. Along with repentance comes a change of heart it is the beginning of your salvation . The word in Acts says 1. To repent have a change of mind 2. be baptized into the name of Jesus Christ to have your sins remitted 3. And you SHALL receive the gift of the Holy Ghost . Rom 11:29 ASV - For the gifts and the calling of God are not repented of. God does not change his mind his gifts and his calling for all man kind it is for you and as many as the Lord God shall call . The word becomes active and alive in you when the Lord abides in you . 1Jo 2:24 ASV - As for you, let that abide in you which ye heard from the beginning. If that which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.
The word of God shall never be destroyed from this earth many people have tried, but we know who is in charge. Gods word is everlasting . Now this book called the bible, Websters says The sacred scriptures of Christians comprising the Old Testament and the New Testament . A book comprising many books and it says that God moved upon men by his spirit to write his word . This word is God breathed and true down to the dot of an i . But it is only a book of paper and ink if it is not reveled by his spirit , 1Cr 2:14 ASV - Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged. It says the natural man , holding a from of godliness . With God it is all or nothing no fence riders no half white and half black part righteous and part evil. No little white lies and God does not wink at sin. There is no such thing as a feel good religion . Some serve God out of a haughty spirit, with a vain and proud spirit. Fleshly works and their God is there belly . The ministry of Jesus was to bring about many sons , the man child is his spirit in you bring about that total surrender to God . Jesus said you must be born again there is no other way unto God he gave you the power of his spirit and grace to believe by faith. Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed . How can two walk together , this word when being proclaimed out of your mouth by faith has the power to move mountains . Jesus cursed the fig tree as a sign to his disciples . Jesus said many times before he even laid hands on people he said behold your faith has made you whole and they were healed. Let it be according to your faith,and without faith it is impossible to please God. You are calling those things that are not as though they were you see it in Gods promises and you see it in the spirit. Abraham believed that even if his son died God would raise him up again. Faith is something hope for if you can touch it or see feel it that is not faith. So it is with religion most religions you do not have to have faith to believe their doctrines . Rom 4:17 ASV - (as it is written, A father of many nations have I made thee) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were.
Rom 4:18 ASV - Who in hope believed against hope, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, So shall thy seed be.
Mat 21:19 ASV - And seeing a fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only; and he saith unto it, Let there be no fruit from thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.
Mat 21:20 ASV - And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How did the fig tree immediately wither away?
Mat 21:21 ASV - And Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea, it shall be done. Is your bible a book of paper and Ink or just pages with writings as others , or is your bible the word what you walk with every day and believe. It says if you have Faith and doubt not . There is a great revival coming in these last days , the word of God is coming with great revelation . And those who are called by his name will walk in that word with great power and strength from God.
And his name is the character the power the authority of Christ in you the hope of glory .
Mat 16:16 ASV - And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Mat 16:18 ASV - And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Jesus said he is building his true church upon this rock who is Christ himself the nature and the authority of himself. The true foundation .
Mat 16:19 ASV - I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. The word keys Greek: kleis
Key:
"a key," is used metaphorically
(a) of "the keys of the kingdom of heaven," which the Lord committed to Peter, Mat 16:19, by which he would open the door of faith, as he did to Jews at Pentecost, and to Gentiles in the person of Cornelius, acting as one commissioned by Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit; he had precedence over his fellow disciples, not in authority, but in the matter of time, on the ground of his confession of Christ (Mat 18:16); equal authority was committed to them (Mat 18:18);
(b) of "the key of knowledge," Luk 11:52, i.e., knowledge of the revealed will of God, by which men entered into the life that pleases God; this the religious leaders of the Jews had presumptuously "taken away," so that they neither entered in themselves, nor permitted their hearers to do so;
Mar 10:39 ASV - And they said unto him, We are able. And Jesus said unto them, The cup that I drink ye shall drink; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
The importance of this verse speaks very plain of our cross and our walk. Jesus said we shall drink of his cup of affliction and to suffer as he suffered . And going back to Romans 6 and realizing the death on the cross we must come to. Rom 6:5 ASV - For if we have become united with [him] in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of his resurrection;
2Ti 3:12 ASV - Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Col 1:27 ASV - to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU , the hope of glory:

Christ In You The Hope Of Glory , Col 1:27
Jesus' use of "parousia"
The word is only used 4 times in the gospels - all in Matthew chapter 24 the "Little Apocalypse" when Jesus discusses the signs of His coming. The references are Matthew 24:3, 27, 37 and 39. In verse 3 the disciples ask "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming,( parousia) and of the end of the age? Jesus then replies:
(Matthew 24:27 NKJV) "For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
(Matthew 24:37-39 NKJV) "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming (parousia) of the Son of Man be. {38} "For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, {39} "and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming (parousia)of the Son of Man be.
Jesus emphasis is that His return will be sudden and surprising. It will be as sudden as a lightning flash and it will catch a preoccupied and self-centered world quite unawares. It is pre-eminently a sudden dramatic divine intervention in history for salvation of the elect and judgment of those who have rejected God's rulership over their lives.
Matt 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Now we see the word Paraousia para ''with'' and ousia " being " He is there by his spirit in your bodily form in your body you are the representative , ambassador for Christ . John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also. I believe we will see the glorified Jesus in that day when we shall meet him in the air
He is coming in his glorified body and and he is coming in his corporate body the body of Christ.
1Jo 3:2 ASV - Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.
Manifested in the Greek: phaneroo
As of now I am not sure what will take place in my spirit and my body in the very end, but I do know that if I put to death my old self my carnal nature, and the old man surrenders to the death of my cross. Than by that process I will be like him! Jesus , I will have his nature and his character manifesting his authority in my daily life. And when I see him in that day I will KNOW him for I will be just like him in every way. And than this carnal nature my old man will remain on this earth when we rise to meet him. And we will know our Lord and savior because his spirit lives in us and has brought us to this very place .
Jhn 20:31 ASV - but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name. Name in the g3686 Greek: onoma
for all that a "name" implies, of authority, character, rank, majesty, power, excellence, etc., of everything that the "name" covers:
And that believing ye may have life in his name. And that is his life the life of Christ. Of authority, character, rank, majesty, power, excellence everything that the "name" covers That is why demons come out in the name of Jesus there is power in that name and every one must understand that power by faith and use it for his kingdom. The sons of sceva in Acts 19-14 they were commanding devils to come out in the name of Jesus that Paul preaches, They did not know Jesus or his name, the devil said Jesus I know and Paul I know but who are you. The devils must obey at the name of Jesus and Satan knows who belongs to God by faith. His disciples were with great Joy after coming back, after he sent them out to minister the gospel. They said we lacked nothing and even the demons were subject unto us.
The gifts are a manifestation of his spirit , Luk 10:19 ASV - Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.
Luk 10:20 ASV - Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. These are the signs that follow a believer. And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues;
John 8-38 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, [these] shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come. John 18-38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find no crime in him.
Truth is Nothing being left out , all deception is a lie of the truth . And Pilate was looking at the truth in bodily form. If you see Jesus you are looking at the father. For God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself Jesus," gives the correct rendering, the meaning is not merely ethical "truth," but "truth" in all its fullness and scope, as embodied in Him; He was the perfect expression of the truth; this is virtually equivalent to His statement in Jhn 14:6; ASV - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jhn 14:7 ASV - If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. How much does God love you ? Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how sayest thou, Show us the Father?
1Cr 15:50 ASV - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Cr 15:51 ASV - Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Cr 15:52 ASV - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Cr 15:53 ASV - For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Cr 15:54 ASV - But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Jesus manifested himself to his diciples after his crucifiction Luk 24:39 ASV - See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye behold me having.
Luk 24:40 ASV - And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
Luk 24:41 ASV - And while they still disbelieved for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here anything to eat?
Luk 24:42 ASV - And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish.
Luk 24:43 ASV - And he took it, and ate before them.
Also he told his disciples Jhn 14:4 ASV - And whither I go, ye know the way.
Jhn 14:5 ASV - Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how know we the way?
Jhn 14:6 ASV - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jhn 14:7 ASV - If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Jhn 14:8 ASV - Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Jhn 14:9 ASV - Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how sayest thou, Show us the Father?
Jhn 14:10 ASV - Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say unto you I speak not from myself: but the Father abiding in me doeth his works.
In this same chapter Jesus said And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also. This preparation he was talking about here is his going to the cross , He is showing the way to Gods kingdom the cross and he said you must take up your cross also and follow me. So where do we follow our savior I Cor 15 speaks all about this , For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. We receive our heavenly bodies at this point, but what is the prerequisite to receiving this wonderful new everlasting live. Mat 10:38 ASV - And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.
Mat 16:24 ASV - Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mar 8:34 ASV - And he called unto him the multitude with his disciples, and said unto them, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Greek: stauros the crucifixion suffered," e.g., 1Cr 1:17, 18, where "the word of the cross," RV, stands for the Gospel; Gal 5:11, where crucifixion is metaphorically used of the renunciation of the world, that characterizes the true Christian life; Gal 6:12, 14; Eph 2:16; Phl 3:18.
a cross
a) a well known instrument of most cruel and ignominious punishment, borrowed by the Greeks and Romans from the Phoenicians; to it were affixed among the Romans, down to the time of Constantine the Great, the guiltiest criminals, particularly the basest slaves, robbers, the authors and abetters of insurrections, and occasionally in the provinces. Jesus went to his physical death on the cross he laid down his life in his flesh to show the way for us to follow . We die on our spiritual cross every day and our cross is the altar of our sacrifice of our carnal nature. 1) the altar for slaying and burning of victims used of
a) the altar of whole burnt offerings which stood in the court of the priests in the temple at Jerusalem
b) the altar of incense which stood in the sanctuary or the Holy Place
c) any other altar
1) metaph., the cross on which Christ suffered an expiatory death: to eat of this altar i.e. to appropriate to one's self the fruits of Christ's expiatory death
So we must see here Christ is speaking of our carnal flesh bring born unto sin by the loins of Adam. But his cross is our way out of the curse that sin lays on us. I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. The only way for us is according to Rom 12:1 ASV - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your spiritual service.
Rom 12:2 ASV - And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
This word says we must be a living sacrifice being holy unto God . Hbr 12:14 ASV - Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord:
Now sanctification in the Greek: hagiasmos
Holiness, Holy, Holily:
translated "holiness" in the AV of Rom 6:19, 22; 1Th 4:7; 1Ti 2:15; Hbr 12:14, is always rendered "sanctification" in the RV. It signifies
(a) separation to God, 1Cr 1:30; 2Th 2:13; 1Pe 1:2;
(b) the resultant state, the conduct befitting those so separated, 1Th 4:3, 4, 7, and the four other places mentioned above. "Sanctification" is thus the state predetermined by God for believers, into which in grace He calls them, and in which they begin their Christian course and so pursue it. Hence they are called "saints" (hagioi).
See SANCTIFICATION.
Now here me this word is speaking to us all today Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how know we the way? Everything Jesus did on this earth in his flesh we will do
spiritually speaking , It says in 1Cr 15:50 ASV - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Kingdom" The Kingdom of God is
Greek: basileia
(a) the sphere of God's rule, Psa 22:28; 145:13; Dan 4:25; Luk 1:52; Rom 13:1, 2. Since, however, this earth is the scene of universal rebellion against God, e.g., Luk 4:5, 6; 1Jo 5:19; Rev 11:15-18, the "kingdom" of God is
(b) the sphere in which, at any given time, His rule is acknowledged. God has not relinquished His sovereignty in the face of rebellion, demoniac and human, but has declared His purpose to establish it
"Now, the King and His rule being refused, those who enter the Kingdom of God are brought into conflict with all who disown its allegiance, as well as with the desire for ease, and the dislike of suffering and unpopularity, natural to all. On the other hand, subjects of the Kingdom are the objects of the care of God, Mat 6:33, and of the rejected King, Hbr 13:5.
"Entrance into the Kingdom of God is by the new birth, Mat 18:3; Jhn 3:5, for nothing that a man may be by nature, or can attain to by any form of self-culture, avails in the spiritual realm. And as the new nature, received in the new birth, is made evident by obedience, it is further said that only such as do the will of God shall enter into His Kingdom, Mat 7:21, where, however, the context shows that the reference is to the future, as in 2Pe 1:10, 11. Cp. also 1Cr 6:9, 10; Gal 5:21; Eph 5:5.
"The expression 'Kingdom of God' occurs four times in Matthew, 'Kingdom of the Heavens' usually taking its place. The latter (cp. Dan 4:26) does not occur elsewhere in NT, but see 2Ti 4:18, "His heavenly Kingdom." . . . This Kingdom is identical with the Kingdom of the Father (cp. Mat 26:29 with Mar 14:25), and with the Kingdom of the Son (cp. Luk 22:30). Thus there is but one Kingdom, variously described: of the Son of Man, Mat 13:41; of Jesus, Rev 1:9; of Christ Jesus, 2Ti 4:1; "of Christ and God," Eph 5:5; "of our Lord, and of His Christ," Rev 11:15; "of our Lord, and of His Christ," Rev 11:15; "of our God, and the authority of His Christ," 12:10; "of the Son of His love," Col 1:13.
"The Apostle Paul often speaks of the Kingdom of God, not dispensationally but morally, e.g., in Rom 14:17; 1Cr 4:20, but never so of the Kingdom of Heaven. 'God' is not the equivalent of 'the heavens.' He is everywhere and above all dispensations, whereas 'the heavens' are distinguished from the earth, until the Kingdom comes in judgment and power and glory (Rev 11:15, RV) when rule in heaven and on earth will be one.
"Concerning the future, the Lord taught His disciples to pray thy Kingdom come.
Mat 19:28 ASV - And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that ye who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Tts 3:5 ASV - not by works [done] in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
The word regeneration Greek: palingenesia
Regeneration:
"new birth" (palin, "again," genesis, "birth"), is used of "spiritual regeneration," Tts 3:5, involving the communication of a new life, the two operating powers to produce which are "the word of truth," Jam 1:18; 1Pe 1:23, and the Holy Spirit, Jhn 3:5, 6; the loutron, "the laver, the washing," is explained in Eph 5:26, "having cleansed it by the washing (loutron) of water with the word."
Act 1:4 ASV - and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, [said he], ye heard from me:
Luk 24:49 ASV - And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high.
Act 2:33 ASV - Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear.
Rom 4:16 ASV - For this cause [it is] of faith, that [it may be] according to grace; to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
So much to say and so little time. There is an infilling of the Holy Spirit and it is for you today just as in the book of Acts the beginning of the New Testament church . It is a definite experience you will know if you have the Holy Spirit living in you. If you are not sure ask the Lord to fill you just as I have said. He will give you his spirit . It is a promise from God to you
Rev 3:20 ASV - Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Do you have the Holy Spirit it is an absolute knowing in your heart, Jesus said I will come INTO him. Jhn 15:4 ASV - Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me.
Greek: parousia
Coming (Noun):
lit., "a presence," para, "with," and ousia, "being" (from eimi, "to be"), denotes both an "arrival" and a consequent "presence with." For instance, in a papyrus letter a lady speaks of the necessity of her parousia in a place in order to attend to matters relating to her property there. Paul speaks of his parousia in Philippi, Phl 2:12 (in contrast to his apousia, "his absence;" see ABSENCE). Other words denote "the arrival" (see eisodos and eleusis, above). Parousia is used to describe the presence of Christ with His disciples on the Mount of Transfiguration, 2Pe 1:16. When used of the return of Christ, at the Rapture of the Chruch, it signifies, not merely His momentary "coming" for His saints, but His presence with them from that moment until His revelation and manifestation to the world. In some passages the word gives prominence to the beginning of that period, the course of the period being implied, 1Cr 15:23; 1Th 4:15; 5:23; 2Th 2:1; Jam 5:7, 8; 2Pe 3:4. In some, the course is prominent, Mat 24:3, 37; 1Th 3:13; 1Jo 2:28; in others the conclusion of the period, Mat 24:27; 2Th 2:8.
The word is also used of the Lawless One, the Man of Sin, his access to power and his doings in the world during his parousia, 2Th 2:9. In addition to Phl 2:12 (above), it is used in the same way of the Apostle, or his companions, in 1Cr 16:17; 2Cr 7:6, 7; 10:10; Phl 1:26; of the Day of God, 2Pe 3:12.
See PRESENCE.
Note: The word apokalupsis, rendered "coming" in 1Cr 1:7, AV, denotes a "revelation"
Phil 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.

Power And Authority In His Name
Luk 9:1 ASV - And he called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.
Luk 9:2 ASV - And he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
Luk 9:3 ASV - And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staff, nor wallet, nor bread, nor money; neither have two coats.
Luk 9:4 ASV - And into whatsoever house ye enter, there abide, and thence depart.
Luk 9:5 ASV - And as many as receive you not, when ye depart from that city, shake off the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
Luk 9:6 ASV - And they departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere.
I would like to bring your attention to these verses and go into the words of this scripture and show the tremendous blessings we have in Jesus. The enemy will portray himself as something bigger than life its self much bigger than you . He wants you to submit to his lies and lay down and give up. If you remember when David came against Goliath, every man in Israel trembled at the presence of this man he was so much bigger than them. It says his spear was like a weavers beam and he also spoke very loudly he was very intimidating . Looking at this in the flesh he was very fearsome. And the devil is a lie and the father of lies. Do you know what defeats the enemy in your life ? its FAITH and that faith is believing with your whole heart that God is greater than your enemy . If God created heaven and earth and all there in, than he knows about your enemy for he created him. People believe there are two powers at work in the earth and they are some how equal in power and strength and they hope there side wins. God is sovereign over evil he created evil , your God created evil.
Isa 45:5 ASV - I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides me there is no God. I will gird thee, though thou hast not known me;
Isa 45:6 ASV - that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me: I am Jehovah, and there is none else
Isa 45:7 ASV - I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil. I am Jehovah, that doeth all these things.
luk 9-1 the words Power , Authority, and Cure
Power
Greek: dunamis This is the Greek word they used for dynamite explosive power !
Ability, Able:
is
(a) "power, ability," physical or moral, as residing in a person or thing;
(b) "power in action," as, e.g., when put forth in performing miracles. It occurs 118 times in the NT. It is sometimes used of the miracle or sign itself, the effect being put for the cause, e.g., Mar 6:5, frequently in the Gospels and Acts. In 1Cr 14:11 it is rendered "meaning;" "force" would be more accurate. Cp., the corresponding verbs, B. 1, 2, 3 and the adjective C. 1, below.
See ABUNDANCE, DEED, MIGHT, POWER, STRENGTH, VIOLENCE, VIRTUE, WORK.
Greek: exousia
Authority:
denotes "authority" (from the impersonal verb exesti, "it is lawful"). From the meaning of "leave or permission," or liberty of doing as one pleases, it passed to that of "the ability or strength with which one is endued," then to that of the "power of authority," the right to exercise power, e.g., Mat 9:6; 21:23; 2Cr 10:8; or "the power of rule or government," the power of one whose will and commands must be obeyed by others, e.g., Mat 28:18; Jhn 17:2; Jud 1:25; Rev 12:10; 17:13; more specifically of apostolic "authority," 2Cr 10:8; 13:10; the "power" of judicial decision, Jhn 19:10; of "managing domestic affairs," Mar 13:34. By metonymy, or name-change (the substitution of a suggestive word for the name of the thing meant), it stands for "that which is subject to authority or rule," Luk 4:6 (RV, "authority," for the AV "power"); or, as with the English "authority," "one who possesses authority, a ruler, magistrate," Rom 13:1-3; Luk 12:11; Tts 3:1; or "a spiritual potentate," e.g., Eph 3:10; 6:12; Col 1:16; 2:10, 15; 1Pe 3:22. The RV usually translates it "authority."
In 1Cr 11:10 it is used of the veil with which a woman is required to cover herself in an assembly or church, as a sign of the Lord's "authority" over the church.
See JURISDICTION, LIBERTY, POWER, RIGHT, STRENGTH.
CURE "to heal, restore to health, to cure;" it is usually translated "to heal," but "cure" in Mat 17:16, 18; Luk 7:21; 9:1; Jhn 5:10, Act 28:9, RV.

He gave his disciples the power to cast out devils and to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. The church in Acts is our example as to the working of these signs Many were healed by the disciples even Peters shadow it says as he passed by, and it was all by faith of the person being healed. Jesus said your faith has made you whole, the woman touched his garment and was healed.
Mar 16:15 ASV - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation. these promises are for those that believe it says to the Whole creation its says into all the World. To the ends of the earth
Mar 16:17 ASV - And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; Here is the dynamite power to loose people that are bound and in torment. And the word says tongues are for a sign,
Mar 16:18 ASV - they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. ,
Mat 16:18 ASV - And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it., Mar 16:18 they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. . Now this verse is abused greatly to the fact that it is not discerned by the Holy Ghost there is the letter of the word and than the spirit of the word. 2Cr 3:6 ASV - who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. To take up serpents , I believe this is speaking of spiritual warfare doing battle with the enemy. Eph 6:12 ASV - For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places]. 2Cr 10:4 ASV - (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds),
2Cr 10:5 ASV - casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ; Satans battle is for our minds.
Take in the Greek: airo
Bear: signifies
(a) "to raise up, to lift, to take upon oneself and carry what has been raised, physically" (its most frequent use), or as applied to the mind, "to suspend, to keep in suspense," as in Jhn 10:24, lit., "How long doth thou suspend our souls?;" Looking on the serpent on the lifted pole
(b) "to take away what is attached to anything, to remove," as of Christ, in taking (or "bearing," marg.) away the sin of the world, Jhn 1:29; Christ "was manifested to take away sins," 1Jo 3:5, where, not the nature of the Atonement is in view, but its effect in the believer's life. The Greek word serpent in this verse Greek: ophis Serpent:
the characteristics of the "serpent" as alluded to in Scripture are mostly evil (though Mat 10:16 refers to its caution in avoiding danger); its treachery, Gen 49:17; 2Cr 11:3; its venom, Psa 58:4; 1Cr 10:9; Rev 9:19; its skulking, Job 26:13; its murderous proclivities, e.g., Psa 58:4; Pro 23:32; Ecc 10:8, 11; Amo 5:19; Mar 16:18; Luk 10:19; the Lord used the word metaphorically of the scribes and Pharisees, Mat 23:33 (cp. echidna, "viper," in Mat 3:7; 12:34). The general aspects of its evil character are intimated in the Lord's rhetorical question in Mat 7:10; Luk 11:11. Its characteristics are concentrated in the arch-adversary of God and man, the Devil, metaphorically described as the serpent, 2Cr 11:3; Rev 12:9, 14, 15; 20:2. The brazen "serpent" lifted up by Moses was symbolical of the means of salvation provided by God, in Christ and His vicarious death under the Divine judgment upon sin, Jhn 3:14. While the living "serpent" symbolizes sin in its origin, hatefulness, and deadly effect, the brazen "serpent" symbolized the bearing away of the curse and the judgement of sin; the metal was itself figurative of the righteousness of God's judgment.
Mark 16:18 is speaking of the Spiritual warfare that takes place when the power of Jesus and his gifts are made manifest to all. Take authority over the devil binding the strong man first and than plundering his house fighting for the souls of mankind Mat 16:18 ASV - And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. metaphorically, of the "gates" at the entrances of the ways leading to life and to destruction and it says the gates of hell to keep you out and others in. And the word church means the called out ones the ones who believe this word and manifest it in their life's, and who is the Rock ? Christ Jesus and him crucified there is power in his blood . Jesus said if I be lifted up, (Moses and the serpent on the pole) I will draw all men unto me. Eph 6:11 ASV - Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 ASV - For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places]. This is how Jesus could say Father forgive them they know not what they do. Our enemy is spiritual, demonic you must see and realize we war against satan and his forces the demons of hell. Not flesh and blood of men and women, people are controlled by this evil so God made a way of escape through Christ Jesus and his wonderful sacrifice . And Jesus said they SHALL cast out devils. Jesus said deliverance is the children's Bread to those that come for help believing in Christ
Eph 6:13 ASV - Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.
Mar 16:19 ASV - So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
Mar 16:20 ASV - And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.
Mar 16:17 ASV - And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mar 16:20 ASV - And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen. It says the Lord was working with them this is after his going to the father. And if Jesus abides in you he will work through you also by his spirit.
Luke 9:5 And as many as receive you not, when ye depart from that city, shake off the dust from your feet for a testimony against them . Strong's Number: g3039 Greek: likmao
Dust:
primarily, "to winnow" (from likmos, "a winnowing-fan"), hence, "to scatter" as chaff or dust, is used in Mat 21:44; Luk 20:18, RV, "scatter as dust," AV, "grind to powder." There are indications in the papyri writings that the word came to denote "to ruin, to destroy." This is speaking of people rejecting the word of God, dust being from the earth and earth is a type of our flesh, they love the world more than the word of truth. Separating the Wheat from the Chaff Mat 21:44 ASV - And he that falleth on this stone shall be broken to pieces: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust. Jesus told his disciples to shake the dust from their feet as a sign. Dust is the fine particles of earth, man is made from the earth (1cor 15 ) born of the loins of Adam and under the curse of Adam. Rom 8:3 ASV - For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: They rejected Christ and his sacrifice of blood. This is a very sobering thought I do not believe they went back again , Mar 6:11 ASV - And whatsoever place shall not receive you, and they hear you not, as ye go forth thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony unto them.
There is no guarantee of a long fulfilling life on the earth , Jesus said do not worry about tomorrow Mat 6:34 ASV - Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. If the word says he is coming as a thief in the night no man knows his return. And you do not know Jesus or submit to his authority and his word. How much time do you believe you have to wait. Luk 12:16 ASV - And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
Luk 12:17 ASV - and he reasoned within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have not where to bestow my fruits?
Luk 12:18 ASV - And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my grain and my goods.
Luk 12:19 ASV - And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry.
Luk 12:20 ASV - But God said unto him, Thou foolish one, this night is thy soul required of thee; and the things which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be?
Luk 12:21 ASV - So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. If you are not wash in the blood of the lamb and you are reading this now, God is calling !
Mat 21:44 ASV - And he that falleth on this stone shall be broken to pieces: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust. Mat 13:30 ASV - Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn. Psa 19:9 ASV - The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever: The ordinances of Jehovah are true, [and] righteous altogether.
Jesus said count the cost, Pick up your cross and follow him
Luk 9:2 ASV - And he sent them forth to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
Isa 45:5 ASV - I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides me there is no God. I will gird thee, though thou hast not known me;
Isa 45:6 ASV - that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me: I am Jehovah, and there is none else
Ability, Able:
is
(a) "power, ability," physical or moral, as residing in a person or thing;

Testimony:
"a testimony, witness," is almost entirely translated "testimony" in both AV and RV. The only place where both have "witness" is Act 4:33. In Act 7:44; Jam 5:3, the RV has "testimony" (AV, "witness").In 2Th 1:10, "our testimony unto you," RV, refers to the fact that the missionaries, besides proclaiming the truths of the gospel, had borne witness to the power of these thruths.Kerugma, "the thing preached, the message," is objective, having especially to do with the effect on the hearers;marturion is mainly subjective, having to do especially with the preacher's personal experience. In 1Ti 2:6 the RV is important, "the testimony (i.e., of the gospel) to be borne in its own times," i.e., in the times Divinely appointed for it, namely, the present age, from Pentecost till the church is complete. In Rev 15:5, in the phrase, "the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in Heaven," the "testimony" is the witness to the rights of God, denied and refused on earth, but about to be vindicated by the exercise of the judgments under the pouring forth of the seven bowls or vials of Divine retribution.

Is That Hyssop I Smell
Today we will take the Old Testament as a sheet of transparent paper clear plastic. And we will lay this over the New testament and try to match the verses together. Putting the old in the same setting as the new . Now if the Old spoke about the coming of Christ , prophecy has been fulfilled than it has been made manifest to us all. For Christ Jesus has come and he has completed his work of salvation and he is now seated with his father, and he is our rest . So as to the whole word of God the testaments are transparent to each other. A telling of things to come in the old and a manifestation of those things becoming reality in the new . It is spoken of as types and shadows concerning the Old Testament and its prophecy and the fulfilling and completion of this prophecy in the New Testament.
Exd 12:15 ASV - Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. Leaven in the Greek of corrupt doctrine, Mat 13:33; Luk 13:21, of error as mixed with the truth (there is no valid reason for regarding the symbol here differently from its application elsewhere in the NT); Mat 16:6, 11; Mar 8:15 (1st part); Luk 12:1; that the kingdom of heaven is likened to "leaven," does not mean that the kingdom is "leaven." The same statement, as made in other parables, shows that it is the whole parable which constitutes the similitude of the kingdom; the history of Christendom confirms the fact that the pure meal of the doctrine of Christ has been adulterated with error
Jhn 14:2 House in the Greek metaph. of the God the Holy Spirit indwelling believers
And the word HOUSE in this verse Exodus 12:15 is speaking of your body your soul .
Exd 12:19 ASV - Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a sojourner, or one that is born in the land. Seven days is a type of Gods judgement in the last days. Tribulation the first being three and one half years and than the second half being three and one half. The word says seven days you will not partake of leaven bread . Leaven being the corrupted word not of God another gospel other than Christ that Paul preached . And the bread is the pure word of God for today the fact that the pure meal of the doctrine of Christ has been adulterated with error .
Exd 12:17 ASV - And ye shall observe the [feast of] unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance for ever.
Exd 12:20 ASV - Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.
Mat 16:6 ASV - And Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducee's. I believe the Pharisees and Sadducee's hated Christ because he brought righteousness , he was bringing an end to their fleshly kingdom. It was not that they did not believe he was the messiah I believe they knew he was but they rejected him because he brought an end to their greed and power their hold on the people. And they cast their leaven to the people to deceive them. Listen to what John said about them . They were not confused or not sure about Jesus they knew what they were doing.
Mat 3:7 ASV - But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducee's coming to his baptism, he said unto them, Ye offspring of vipers, (serpents devils ) who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Jesus told them they were of their father the devil . And the same is true today some men preach leaven out of ignorance and some out of an evil heart. But either way they do not fear God , Jesus said not one stone will be left upon another speaking of their temple. And in 70 A D it happened destruction came. Jerusalem was destroyed burned to the ground.
Exd 12:21 ASV - Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the passover. Now God told Moses to speak to the people this commandant. To take a Lamb without a blemish without spot. And kill the passover
Isa 53:5 ASV - But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isa 53:6 ASV - All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Isa 53:7 ASV - He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.
Isa 53:8 ASV - By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who [among them] considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke [was due]? To whom the stroke was due that is you and I Christ paid the ransom to deliver us from darkness and to reconcile us unto God. The passover was Jesus the Lamb of God do you realize that today people celebrate the Passover of Christ as a festival a time of games , another yearly event oblivious to the fact that blood was shed for them, and there is another passover coming another death angel coming , its called the wrath of God. If you partake of this leaven in your life's you will perish. Jhn 3:16 ASV - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe on him should not perish, but have eternal life. Salvation is free to you that believe ! but it will cost you your life of the carnal nature, Become a living sacrifice
Exd 12:22 ASV - And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. A bunch of hyssop not a twig for Hyssop is a beautiful part of this verse Greek hyssop, a plant used for medicinal and religious purposes Hyssop was a very aromatic plant like the mint or spearmint plant we know today. David knew the significance of hyssop and the sacrifice. In the psalms David said wash me ( the blood of Christ) Psa 51:7 ASV - Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. The hyssop was a type of the sacrifice of Christ it was a sweet savor to God. The father told Moses to use hyssop because it was indicative of the preciousness of his sacrifice. And the hyssop was dipped into the blood of the Lamb and when Moses struck the lintel and the side post, The Lord said STRIKE the lintel and as Mose and the children dip the hyssop in the blood and crushed the hyssop mixed with the blood the aromatic savor of the hyssop filled the air all around them. It was the aroma the sweet sacrifice of the hyssop crushed with the blood. They were applying the blood to their hearts and God was pleased. Isa 53:10 ASV - Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand. You are his seed Jesus said in three days he would rebuild the house of God by his resurrection he made it possible for you and I, born again of an incorruptible seed and by faith and being obedient to his calling you are prolonging his days. And prosperity of his hand it is your righteous works in and through the Holy Spirit manifesting the fruit of Jesus. Num 28:24 ASV - After this manner ye shall offer daily, for seven days, the food of the offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah: it shall be offered besides the continual burnt-offering, and the drink-offering thereof. Jesus said his flesh is food indeed and his blood is drink indeed it all points to Jesus, eating his flesh consuming his word he is the word of God and drinking his blood is to manifest his very nature in you. For the life is in the blood
2Cr 2:15 ASV - For we are a sweet savor of Christ unto God, in them that are saved, and in them that perish;
2Cr 2:16 ASV - to the one a savor from death unto death; to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? The cross is an instrument of suffering death, to those that have no faith you are foolish but to the righteous it is life everlasting. Tts 1:15 ASV - To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
2Cr 2:17 ASV - For we are not as the many, corrupting the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, speak we in Christ.
Exd 12:23 ASV - For Jehovah will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side-posts, Jehovah will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. And when God sees the blood applied to you heart, he will pass over . Rev 3:20 ASV - Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. And that door is your heart my friend and he says if you open your heart to him he will come into you ! and how will he come into you, by his spirit ! Act 2:38 ASV - And Peter [said] unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Act 1:4 ASV - and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, [said he], ye heard from me:
Act 1:8 ASV - But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. It says to the UTTERMOST Greek: eschatos

1Pe 1:13 ASV - Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
It says the end will not come until all man kind has the opportunity to hear this gospel and believe. Do you hear and believe, yes its for you now , pray ask the father of lights could this possibly be true for me oh Lord Wash me with hyssop make me clean, Fill me Lord with your Spirit reconcile me Lord unto yourself. Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
Jhn 1:13 ASV - who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Born again not of the flesh of our fathers but of the spirit of God and this is the promise.
Jhn 1:14 ASV - And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

Atonement:
translated "atonement" in the AV of Rom 5:11, signifies, not "atonement," but "reconciliation," as in the RV. See also Rom 11:15; 2Cr 5:18, 19. So with the corresponding verbkatallasso, See under RECONCILE. "Atonement" (the explanation of this English word as being "at-one-ment" is entirely fanciful) is frequently found in the OT. See, for instance, Leviticus, chapters 16 and 17. The corresponding NT words are hilasmos, "propitiation," 1Jo 2:2; 4:10, and hilasterion, Rom 3:25; Hbr 9:5, "mercy-seat," the covering of the ark of the covenant. These describe the means (in and through the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His death on the Cross by the shedding of His blood in His vicarious sacrifice for sin) by which God shows mercy to sinners.
