I Smell Something Burning

Gen 8:21 ASV - And Jehovah smelled the sweet savor; and Jehovah said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake, for that the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done.
Gen 8:22 ASV - While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

In the time of sacrifices there was an offering commanded by God to the people , according to the sin committed there has to be a sacrifice for that particular sin.  All sacrifices are consummated by Fire and fire is a purger a  cleansing it is a purifying of the sin for a mans soul.  From the beginning of time we see that sacrifice is the only method of cleansing for sin. Hbr 9:22 ASV - And according to the law, I may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.       Lev 17:11 ASV - For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life.   Keeping in mind this is speaking of Jesus and his sacrifice . There has to be justice for sin and God gave the Law to justify the people.  But the most wonderful thing about the blood of Christ is that it remitted mans sin , his blood was the remission of sins Jesus takes away sin .   Jhn 1:29 ASV - On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world!   Sins under the old law was never remitted never taken away ,  once a year the priest had to make sacrifice for mans sin.    Hbr 9:24 ASV - For Christ entered not into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:
Hbr 9:25 ASV - nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place year by year with blood not his own;
Hbr 9:26 ASV - else must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once at the end of the ages hath he been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Rom 6:10 ASV - For the death that he died, he died unto sin once: but the life that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Rom 8:3 ASV - For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Gen 4:2 ASV - And again she bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Gen 4:4 ASV - And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And Jehovah had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Cain and Abel brought sacrifice to the Lord one was of a lamb from Abel and the other was of the fruit of the earth    But Cain left out the most important part of his sacrifice an honest heart before God    . Each man brought his offering before God but the Lord looks at the motive of the heart    .    Gen 4:3 ASV - And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto Jehovah.    Gen 4:4 ASV - And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And Jehovah had respect unto Abel and to his offering:   And of the fat thereof is speaking that Abel he gave his all his best he gave the best of himself ,  the very best of every thing he had he gave to God.   What can we say of the fruit of the ground,  first this must be understood by the Holy Ghost. The old testament is a shadow of the true to come which is Jesus , and when a bright light from above is shown on an object  than there is a shadow that is cast from the object that the light is on.   And Christ is the true he is the foundation for all scripture he is that object  And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [unto him]; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that seek after him..  Cain came unto God with an incomplete offering there has to be a sacrifice with that offering you not only give God your fruit but you also give him the best all you are even your life. Fruit of the ground was excepted by God but it was not the offering it was the man .  It says God had no regard for Cain and his offering .   There is a higher place of calling for us a place of perfection onto God . It says that concerning Cain and his offering God turned away ,   he turned his eyes away from him he had no regard for his offering. You ever heard the saying its not the gift its the thought behind the giving.  Was it Cain or was it the offering I can see here the two become one at that moment the person and the offering.   It was not the offering  it is the heart that God is looking at.   Remember God commanded a Lamb without spot or blemish , And out of a greedy heart they would bring the lame and the sick lambs to be offered keeping the best for themselves for monetary gain.  If God knows when a sparrow falls to the ground he knows the motive of your heart   And God was offended by Cains less than genuine offering . The heart is what God is looking at he wants his people to love him with their heart . And so it is today do you give him your all an honest heart. Most people want God when they get in trouble or have a great need,  the only time they call on the father is when they want something .   What does the word say to us about this behavior     Rom 12:1 ASV - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your spiritual service.
Rom 12:2 ASV - And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
The only way we can know the will of God in our life is to take this word and obey let it renew our minds.  It says to be transformed by letting his word become our very life .
We see here another sacrifice and it is a sacrifice of our old man our carnal nature the complete sacrifice was always consummated by Fire.    And Cain proved this by letting his pride take control of his heart and out of a jealous heart he slew Abel.

Hbr 11:4 ASV - By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had witness borne to him that he was righteous, God bearing witness in respect of his gifts: and through it he being dead yet speaketh.
1Jo 3:12 ASV - not as Cain was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his works were evil, and his brother's righteous.   What is the perfect offering the father wants from you ? Rom 12:1-2 to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your spiritual service.      Luk 14:28 ASV - For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doth not first sit down and count the cost, whether he have [wherewith] to complete it?   This walk will cost you something   , your natural fleshly  life  .  And constantly falling on the rock and being broken unto resurrection .    Mat 21:43 ASV - Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Mat 21:44 ASV - And he that falleth on this stone shall be broken to pieces: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust.

Mat 3:8 ASV - Bring forth therefore fruit worthy of repentance:

Heb 13;10   We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat that serve the tabernacle.

ALTAR in the greek
the altar for slaying and burning of victims used of

a) the altar of whole burnt offerings which stood in the court of the priests in the temple at Jerusalem

b) the altar of incense which stood in the sanctuary or the Holy Place

c) any other altar

1) metaph., the cross on which Christ suffered an expiatory death: to eat of this altar i.e. to appropriate to one's self the fruits of Christ's expiatory death
The mystery is that it is Christ in you the hope of glory !! in your heart and changing you mind , changing the way you walk  repentance is to change ones natural mind having the mind of Christ .  When in the old testament God would receive the sacrifice he would savor the smell of burning flesh. It is spiritual to realize that this is dealing with your old man . In the past God would savor the burning flesh of bulls and of goats , and in the New Testament the fire is in us,  falling on our cross the altar of sacrifice and letting this word purge out the flesh consuming that old nature .   Hbr 13:12 ASV - Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people through his own blood, suffered without the gate.
Hbr 13:13 ASV - Let us therefore go forth unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
Phl 1:29 ASV - because to you it hath been granted in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer in his behalf:

Rev 20;12    And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne; and books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.

          BOOK IN THE Greek: biblos

Book:  The book of life is his word we will be judged by our faithfulness to his word .
(Eng. "Bible") was the inner part, or rather the cellular substance, of the stem of the papyrus (Eng. "paper"). It came to denote the paper made from this bark in Egypt, and then a written "book," roll, or volume. It is used in referring to "books" of Scripture, the "book," or scroll, of Matthew's Gospel, Mat 1:1; the Pentateuch, as the "book" of Moses, Mar 12:26; Isaiah, as "the book of the words of Isaiah," Luk 3:4; the Psalms, Luk 20:42; Act 1:20; "the prophets," Act 7:42; to "the Book of Life," Phl 4:3; Rev 3:5; 20:15. Once only it is used of secular writings, Act 19:19.

The word of God says that the fear of God is a clean fear , he is just and right in all he does.
The Lords peace is alive on the earth now and we live in that peace whether we be good or bad under his gift of peace. But a time is coming when God will remove his peace from the earth .
No one desires to suffer and most assuredly the flesh wants to live. But Jesus said to pick up your cross and follow him and be a living sacrifice.   1Cor 15:50   Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.  What we must see is that the fruit of Gods word in us is going to inherit Gods kingdom. And the kingdom of God is Rom 14:17   for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Its not feeding your flesh  it has nothing to do with the carnal nature of man.
1Cor 14:20     For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
Luk 17:20 ASV - And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God cometh, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luk 17:21 ASV - neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you.

Luk 11:34 ASV - The lamp of thy body is thine eye: when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when it is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
Luk 11:36 ASV - If therefore thy whole body be full of light, having no part dark, it shall be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining doth give thee light.
When the times become the darkest of all darkness the blackest of all black,    the smallest ray of light a tiny speck of light will revel your surroundings and cause your foot not to stumble this light will dispel    even the darkest of evil.    Jesus said come to me ALL YE who are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
