Having Eyes To See And Ears To Hear
Mat 6:10 ASV - Thy KINGDOM come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
Luk 17:20 ASV - And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God cometh, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luk 17:21 ASV - neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you.
I want to speak about the current church today, I believe there are men and women that are seeking the will of God in their life's every day. And than there are some that do not even know the fullness of the gospel that is for them and their families. The word of God was written for you and every one that believes . There is a misconception of who has the truth or who has the authority to deliver that truth. The word says that when Jesus ascended into heaven and he gave gifts unto men . The word gift here is not only a gift as we know but it is a benefit of Gods grace to his people , It is not the person ministering the gift it is grace Gods love unto his children. 1Cr 12:7 ASV - But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit to profit withal. There is no debate here the fact is to receive Gods blessing you must receive his spirit , and his spirit comes with power and a life changing experience. The bible says to repent of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost . Is his power in you do you hunger for his presence and his word. I pray you have, there is an emptiness and a void a wonder of doubt in those that has followed another gospel . Act 19:1 ASV - And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper country came to Ephesus, and found certain disciples: Paul heard these men speak and knew they lacked power in there life's.
Act 19:2 ASV - and he said unto them, Did ye receive the Holy Spirit when ye believed? And they [said] unto him, Nay, we did not so much as hear whether the Holy Spirit was [given]. This is the what the church as a whole is experiencing today , yes it is for you and to all your children and to as many as the Lord God shall call.
Act 19:3 ASV - And he said, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John's baptism.
Act 19:4 ASV - And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him that should come after him, that is, on Jesus. Repentance must come first . Mat 3:11 ASV - I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and [in] fire:
Mat 3:12 ASV - whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing-floor; and he will gather his wheat into the garner, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.
Mat 3:13 ASV - Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
John had to come first and than Jesus .
Act 19:5 ASV - And when they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
Act 19:6 ASV - And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. Here is where the gifts of God comes into your life's
Act 19:7 ASV - And they were in all about twelve men. Hbr 11:6 ASV - And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [unto him]; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that seek after him. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is ! Men must first believe that there is a God. And than by faith believe his promises.
1Cr 12:8 ASV - For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:
1Cr 12:9 ASV - to another faith, in the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, in the one Spirit;
1Cr 12:10 ASV - and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues:
1Cr 12:11 ASV - but all these worketh the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each one severally even as he will.
1Cr 12:12 ASV - For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.
1Cr 12:13 ASV - For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit.
1Cr 12:14 ASV - For the body is not one member, but many. Eph 4:7 ASV - But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Eph 4:8 ASV - Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
Eph 4:10 ASV - He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
Eph 4:11 ASV - And he gave some [to be] apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 ASV - for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ: Here is the word perfecting and it is in reference to his people saints.
Eph 4:13 ASV - till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
KINGDOM Greek: basileia
Kingdom:
is primarily an abstract noun, denoting "sovereignty, royal power, dominion," e.g., Rev 17:18, translated "(which) reigneth," lit., "hath a kingdom" (RV marg.); then, by metonymy, a concrete noun, denoting the territory or people over whom a king rules, e.g., Mat 4:8; Mar 3:24. It is used especially of the "kingdom" of God and of Christ.
"The Kingdom of God is
(a) the sphere of God's rule, Psa 22:28; 145:13; Dan 4:25; Luk 1:52; Rom 13:1, 2. Since, however, this earth is the scene of universal rebellion against God, e.g., Luk 4:5, 6; 1Jo 5:19; Rev 11:15-18, the "kingdom" of God is
(b) the sphere in which, at any given time, His rule is acknowledged. God has not relinquished His sovereignty in the face of rebellion, demoniac and human, but has declared His purpose to establish it, Dan 2:44; 7:14; 1Cr 15:24, 25. Meantime, seeking willing obedience, He gave His law to a nation and appointed kings to administer His "kingdom" over it, 1Ch 28:5. Israel, however, though declaring still a nominal allegiance shared in the common rebellion, Isa 1:2-4, and, after they had rejected the Son of God, Jhn 1:11 (cp. Mat 21:33-43), were "cast away," Rom 11:15, 20, 25. Henceforth God calls upon men everywhere, without distinction of race or nationality, to submit voluntarily to His rule. Thus the "kingdom" is said to be "in mystery" now, Mar 4:11, that is, it does not come within the range of the natural powers of observation, Luk 17:20, but is spiritually discerned, Jhn 3:3 (cp. 1Cr 2:14). When, hereafter, God asserts His rule universally, then the "kingdom" will be in glory, that is, it will be manifest to all; cp. Mat 25:31-34; Phl 2:9-11; 2Ti 4:1, 18.
"Thus, speaking generally, references to the Kingdom fall into two classes, the first, in which it is viewed as present and involving suffering for those who enter it, 2Th 1:5; the second, in which it is viewed as future and is associated with reward, Mat 25:34, and glory, Mat 13:43. See also Act 14:22.
"The fundamental principle of the Kingdom is declared in the words of the Lord spoken in the midst of a company of Pharisees, "the Kingdom of God is in the midst of you," Luk 17:21, marg., that is, where the King is, there is the Kingdom. Thus at the present time and so far as this earth is concerned, where the King is and where His rule is acknowledged, is, first, in the heart of the individual believer, Act 4:19; Eph 3:17; 1Pe 3:15; and then in the churches of God, 1Cr 12:3, 5, 11; 14:37; cp. Col 1:27, where for "in" read "among."
Rom 14:17 ASV - for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Love not the world , its not about the flesh any more.
1Cr 4:20 ASV - For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
Hbr 11:7 ASV - By faith Noah, being warned [of God] concerning things not seen as yet, moved with Godly Fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. When the door to the Ark slammed shut it sealed Noah and his family unto God and they became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith . One thing to remember the things of this earth will be destroyed by fire , And there will be a new heaven and a new earth, who will live on the new earth and why has God created a new earth. Rev 21:1 ASV - And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more.
Rev 21:2 ASV - And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven of God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3 ASV - And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God: Tabernacle in Greek the eternal abodes of the saints, abiding
Rev 21:4 ASV - and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away.
Rev 21:5 ASV - And he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true.
Rev 21:6 ASV - And he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Rev 21:7 ASV - He that overcometh shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Mat 3:8 ASV - Bring forth therefore fruit worthy of repentance:
Mar 1:4 ASV - John came, who baptized in the wilderness and preached the baptism of repentance unto remission of sins.
Luk 3:3 ASV - And he came into all the region round about the Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance unto remission of sins; The word baptism is used here of repentance, to be totally submerged just as in water. Repentance is a walk every day walk , and with out it no man shall see God. 2Cr 7:10 ASV - For godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation, [a repentance] which bringeth no regret: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. What is this sorrow of the world ? repent means A change of mind to change ones mind . Only God can break our hearts with his love for us and when he revels our hearts to negative actions of our walk we become sorrowful and repent . Now the world is people that have no power to walk in Gods precepts, they have a form of Godliness but no power to over come their sin. So they have a worldly sorrow but no repentance for that sin they are for ever searching for relief with no remedy.
2Ti 3:5 ASV - holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power therefore. From these also turn away. The power is the promise that Jesus spoke of in the gospels the promise of the Holy Spirit . Just as in the days of Acts on the day of Pentecost . I ask people do you have the Holy Spirit most say I am not sure. 1Cr 12:3 ASV - Wherefore I make known unto you, that no man speaking in the Spirit of God saith, Jesus is anathema; and no man can say, Jesus is Lord, but in the Holy Spirit. The only way Jesus can be your Lord is that he dwell in you. The word says the kingdom of God can not be seen or be observed by the natural mind. The kingdom of God is within you.
Jhn 3:8 ASV - The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the voice thereof, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. The kingdom of God is where he rules he is King of that domain. God is etablishing his kingdom right now as we speak , he is building his church his saints .
The word Saints Greek: hagios
Holiness, Holy, Holily: It is used of men and things (see below) in so far as they are devoted to God. Indeed the quality, as attributed to God, is often presented in a way which involves Divine demands upon the conduct of believers. These are called hagioi, "saints," i.e., "sanctified" or "holy" ones. This sainthood is not an attainment, it is a state into which God in grace calls men; yet believers are called to sanctify themselves (consistently with their calling, 2Ti 1:9), cleansing themselves from all defilement, forsaking sin, living a "holy" manner of life, 1Pe 1:15; 2Pe 3:11, and experiencing fellowship with God in His holiness. The saints are thus figuratively spoken of as "a holy temple," 1Cr 3:17 (a local church); Eph 2:21 (the whole Church), cp. Eph 5:27; "a holy priesthood," 1Pe 2:5; "a holy nation," 1Pe 2:9.
We must recieve the whole word of God and believe it . Jhn 16:13 ASV - Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, [these] shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come. The word ALL here is Nothing Left out all truth.
Act 1:8 ASV - But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Luk 5:32 ASV - I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
2Cr 7:1 ASV - Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Greek: eschatos
Act 1:8 ASV - But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Act 1:3 ASV - To whom he also showed himself alive after his passion by many proofs, appearing unto them by the space of forty days, and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God:
Act 1:4 ASV - and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, [said he], ye heard from me:
Act 1:8 ASV - But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. The word Uttermost in Greek eschatos
End, Ending:
"last, utmost, extreme," is used as a noun
(a) of time, rendered "end" in Hbr 1:2, RV, "at the end of these days," i.e., at the "end" of the period under the Law, for AV, "in these last days;" so in 1Pe 1:20, "at the end of the times." In 2Pe 2:20, the plural, ta eschata, lit., "the last things," is rendered "the latter end," AV, (RV, "the last state"); the same phrase is used in Mat 12:45; Luk 11:26;
(b) of place, Act 13:47, AV, "ends (of the earth)," RV, "uttermost part.
According to some this gospel died with the Apostles , Jesus said preach this gospel to the ends of this earth until he returns. You must be born again ! Born of the water and the Spirit

The Renewing Of Your Mind
Mat 6:9 ASV - After this manner therefore pray ye. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Hallowed Greek: hagiazo
Holiness, Holy, Holily:
"to hallow, sanctify," in the Passive Voice, "to be made holy, be sanctified," is translated "let him be made holy" in Rev 22:11, the aorist or point tense expressing the definiteness and completeness of the Divine act; elsewhere it is rendered by the verb "to sanctify."
See HALLOW, SANCTIFY. Name Greek: onoma
Name: for all that a "name" implies, of authority, character, rank, majesty, power, excellence, etc., of everything that the "name" covers:
Christ is telling us that the name of his father and all that believe in his name is set apart , so in his name is his authority. Very important to see this Jesus said he came in his fathers name . So Christ came with power and authority all that his father was . It is not just saying that name it is knowing the power in that name. Col 2:6 ASV - As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk in him,
Col 2:9 ASV - for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,
Col 2:10 ASV - and in him ye are made full, who is the head of all principality and power:
Just in this one verse alone there is a mountain of truth to be recognized and understood. Jesus was all man in his sacrifice and all the fulness of God abides in his body . Jesus came to this earth with all the infirmities of the flesh, Mary his mother gave him his flesh body. But God gave him his deity . And the WORD was made flesh . So Jesus was just like you and I he was a man of flesh .
Hbr 5:7 ASV - Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,
Hbr 5:8 ASV - though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered;
Hbr 5:9 ASV - and having been made perfect, he became unto all them that obey him the author of eternal salvation; His perfection came through his obedience to the word of his father. He said the things that I do they are of the father he does the work . I am coming to a place here of seeing Jesus as an example to us ,he was filled with the Holy Ghost just as you and I are promised . Mat 3:16 ASV - And Jesus when he was baptized, went up straightway from the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him;
Mar 1:11 ASV - And a voice came out of the heavens, Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased.
Mar 1:12 ASV - And straightway the Spirit driveth him forth into the wilderness.
Mar 1:13 ASV - And he was in the wilderness forty days tempted of Satan; And he was with the wild beasts; And the angels ministered unto him. The number forty being a time of trial and testing he was driven into the wilderness the word says.
Hbr 6:18 ASV - that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us:
Hbr 6:19 ASV - which we have as an anchor of the soul, [a hope] both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil;
Hbr 6:20 ASV - whither as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. The word forerunner in the Greek: prodromos
Forerunner:
an adjective signifying "running forward, going in advance," is used as a noun, of "those who were sent before to take observations," acting as scouts, especially in military matters; or of "one sent before a king" to see that the way was prepared, Isa 40:3; (cp. Luk 9:52; and, of John the Baptist, Mat 11:10, etc). In the NT it is said of Christ in Hbr 6:20, as going in advance of His followers who are to be where He is, when He comes to receive them to Himself. In the Sept., Num 13:21, "forerunners (of the grape);" Isa 28:4, "an early (fig)."
I am seeing a great and wonderful plan of God for his children , Jesus came to show us the way he told Phillip I am the way the truth and the life . People will say oh he was the son of God he can do that. We can never be like Jesus , the truth is that is what he came for . How is it he said to pick up your cross and follow him seeing we die a spiritual death but he died a natural death. He was still walking the earth and preaching the gospel. Yet he knew his sacrifice for all man kind. Jesus had to die in his flesh so that we could live in his spirit. He would say oh you of little faith , to believe him and his word and have the faith he preached. Some where in your walk God demands a separation of your carnal man from the spirit man. First we are children but as we receive this great truth and believe his calling the word says we become Sons of God no more children.
Hbr 5:12 ASV - For when by reason of the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need again that some one teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of solid food.
Hbr 5:13 ASV - For every one that partaketh of milk is without experience of the word of righteousness; for he is a babe.
Hbr 5:14 ASV - But solid food is for fullgrown men, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.
Paul says fullgrown men !
1Cr 13:9 ASV - For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
1Cr 13:10 ASV - but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away.
1Cr 13:11 ASV - When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things.
1Cr 13:12 ASV - For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known.
1Cr 13:13 ASV - But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
Verse 9 we see the word PART Greek: meros
Behalf:
"a part," is translated "behalf" in the AV of 2Cr 9:3 (RV, "respect") and 1Pe 4:16; here the most authentic texts have onoma, "a name;" hence RV, "in this name."
This is saying we minister these gifts in the name of Christ , and we will until the end of the age.
Verse 10 The word PERFECT Greek: teleios
Age:
"complete, perfect," from telos, "an end," is translated "of full age" in Hbr 5:14, AV (RV, "fullgrown man").
The perfect is when Christ is formed in you. Gal 4:19 ASV - My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you--
Greek: morphoo Formed:
like the noun (A, No. 1), refers, not to the external and transient, but to the inward and real; it is used in Gal 4:19, expressing the necessity of a change in character and conduct to correspond with inward spiritual condition, so that there may be moral conformity to Christ. Cp. metamorphoo, "to transform, transfigure," summorphizo and suschematizo, "to conform to."
1Jo 3:2 ASV - Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.
Manifest , manifested Greek: phaneroo
Appear, Appearing:
akin to No. 1, signifies, in the Active Voice, "to manifest;" in the Passive Voice, "to be manifested;" so, regularly, in the RV, instead of "to appear." See 2Cr 7:12; Col 3:4; Hbr 9:26; 1Pe 5:4; 1Jo 2:28; 3:2; Rev 3:18. To be manifested, in the Scriptural sense of the word, is more than to "appear." A person may "appear" in a false guise or without a disclosure of what he truly is; to be manifested is to be revealed in one's true character; this is especially the meaning of phaneroo, see, e.g., Jhn 3:21; 1Cr 4:5; 2Cr 5:10, 11; Eph 5:13.
Upon his resurrection Christ became a spiritual , glorified body. And Jesus in luke 24 manifested his body at will for he no longer was bound to the earth. Luk 24:38 ASV - And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and wherefore do questionings arise in your heart?
Luk 24:39 ASV - See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye behold me having. They could hold him, touch him and this is the revelation of in a twinkling of an eye we shall all be changed. And we shall be with him for ever more.
Luk 24:40 ASV - And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
Luk 24:41 ASV - And while they still disbelieved for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here anything to eat?
Luk 24:42 ASV - And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish.
Luk 24:43 ASV - And he took it, and ate before them.
Christ was the example for us to believe and have faith in , I John 3-2 if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is. This is Christ in you the hope of Glory. Jesus is the door unto God NO MAN shall see God except through him. 1Cr 15:50 ASV - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. This carnal man must succumb to this great and glorious word. God is coming for sons he is coming for the fruit of Jesus in you. You must renew your mind from having a mind of the flesh to having the mind of Christ . Rom 12:1 ASV - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, [which is] your spiritual service.
Rom 12:2 ASV - And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the Renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
The only way we are to know him is through this word, and if we want to know the will of God in our life's than we let this word renew our minds by the washing water of this word.
Hbr 12:14 ASV - Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord: His name is his word and this word will set you apart from this world it will sanctify
your heart and revel the very nature and life of Christ in you.

Hbr 12:27-28 Wherefore, Receiving A Kingdom That Cannot Be Shaken
RECONCILIATION
2Cr 5:18 ASV - But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Cr 5:19 ASV - to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Greek: katallasso
Reconcile, Reconciliation:
properly denotes "to change, exchange" (especially of money); hence, of persons, "to change from enmity to friendship, to reconcile." With regard to the relationship between God and man, the use of this and connected words shows that primarily "reconciliation" is what God accomplishes, exercising His grace towards sinful man on the ground of the death of Christ in propitiatory sacrifice under the judgment due to sin, 2Cr 5:19, where both the verb and the noun are used (cp. No. 2, in Col 1:21). By reason of this men in their sinful condition and alienation from God are invited to be "reconciled" to Him; that is to say, to change their attitude, and accept the provision God had made, whereby their sins can be remitted and they themselves be justified in His sight in Christ.
1Ti 2:5 ASV - For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men, [himself] man, Christ Jesus,
1Ti 2:6 ASV - who gave himself a ransom for all; the testimony [to be borne] in its own times;
Greek: lutron
Ransom:
"a means of loosing" (from luo, "to loose"), occurs frequently in the Sept., where it is always used to signify "equivalence." Thus it is used of the "ransom" for a life, e.g., Exd 21:30, of the redemption price of a slave, e.g., Lev 19:20, of land, Lev 25:24, of the price of a captive, Isa 45:13. In the NT it occurs in Mat 20:28; Mar 10:45, where it is used of Christ's gift of Himself as "a ransom for many." Some interpreters have regarded the "ransom" price as being paid to Satan; others, to an impersonal power such as death, or evil, or "that ultimate necessity which has made the whole course of things what it has been." Such ideas are largely conjectural, the result of an attempt to press the details of certain Old Testament illustrations beyond the actual statements of New Testament doctrines.
That Christ gave up His life in expiatory sacrifice under God's judgment upon sin and thus provided a "ransom" whereby those who receive Him on this ground obtain deliverance from the penalty due to sin, is what Scripture teaches. What the Lord states in the two passages mentioned involves this essential character of His death. In these passages the preposition is anti, which has a vicarious significance, indicating that the "ransom" holds good for those who, accepting it as such, no longer remain in death since Christ suffered death in their stead. The change of preposition in 1Ti 2:6, where the word antilutron, a substitutionary "ransom," is used, is significant. There the preposition is huper, "on behalf of," and the statement is made that He "gave Himself a ransom for all," indicating that the "ransom" was provisionally universal, while being of a vicarious character. Thus the three passages consistently show that while the provision was universal, for Christ died for all men, yet it is actual for those only who accept God's conditions, and who are described in the Gospel statements as "the many." The giving of His life was the giving of His entire person, and while His death under Divine judgment was alone expiatory, it cannot be dissociated from the character of His life which, being sinless, gave virtue to His death and was a testimony to the fact that His death must be of a vicarious nature.

Religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to the supernatural, and to spirituality.[note 1] Many religions have narratives, symbols, and sacred histories that are intended to explain the meaning of life and/or to explain the origin of life or the Universe. From their beliefs about the cosmos and human nature, they tend to derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle. According to some estimates, there are roughly 4,200 religions in the world.[
Jam 1:27 ASV - Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
Religion: Greek: threseia
signifies "religion" in its external aspect (akin to threskos, see below), "religious worship," especially the ceremonial service of "religion;" it is used of the "religion" of the Jews, Act 26:5; of the "worshiping" of angels, Col 2:18, which they themselves repudiate (Rev 22:8, 9); "there was an officious parade of humility in selecting these lower beings as intercessors rather than appealing directly to the Throne of Grace" (Lightfoot); in Jam 1:26, 27 the writer purposely uses the word to set in contrast that which is unreal and deceptive, and the "pure religion" which consists in visiting "the fatherless and widows in their affliction," and in keeping oneself "unspotted from the world." He is "not herein affirming . . . these offices to be the sum total, nor yet the great essentials, of true religion, but declares them to be the body, the threskeia, of which godliness, or the love of God, is the informing soul" (Trench).
The dictionary says there are roughly 4,200 religions in the world. And as we read the worlds meaning and the Greek meaning of religion there is quite a contrast. But I see no where in the word of God where we are instructed to be religious. Religion is an outward sign as to some belief. Whether good or bad it is still religion . One Lord one Faith and one baptism .
My question to you is how do you know God at this moment ? what is your answer to whom ever ask what is the reason of your hope. Jesus said Jhn 14:3 ASV - And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also. He is speaking of his death of the cross and knowing he will resurrect to newness of life . Concerning prophecy about him. Now he says I come again , and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also . Now he is speaking about the infilling of the spirit of God this is the experience I was referring to when I ask how do you know God . Jhn 16:13 ASV - Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, [these] shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come. Jhn 14:16 ASV - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,
Jhn 14:17 ASV - [even] the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you.
Jhn 14:18 ASV - I will not leave you desolate: I come unto you. 1Cr 2:14 ASV - Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged. Religion is an outward sign of a man made God.
Religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to the supernatural, and to spirituality.[note 1] Many religions have narratives, symbols, and sacred histories . Religion ? you do not need faith to practice religion, it is about flesh and the natural five senses of man. If they can not smell it or taste it or touch it and see it they do not believe it.
Hbr 11:6 ASV - And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [unto him]; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.
Jhn 14:4 ASV - And whither I go, ye know the way.
Jhn 14:5 ASV - Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how know we the way?
Jhn 14:6 ASV - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Where I am going you know the way and the only way unto God is through Christ. Those that are looking for God here is the answer The word Way Greek: hodos
Highway, Highwayside:
"a way, path, road," is rendered "highways" in Mat 22:10; Luk 14:23; in Mar 10:46, RV, "way side," AV, "highway side;" in Mat 22:9, the word is used with diexodoi ("ways out through"), and the phrase is rightly rendered in the RV, "the partings of the highways" (i.e., the crossroads), AV, "the highways."
The prophecy below is a very sobering word from God every valley filled and every mountain and hill shall be brought low. There will be no excuse in that day of judgement. All flesh shall see the salvation of God it is Christ in you the hope of glory. Make your paths straight Mar 9:1 ASV - And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There are some here of them that stand [by], who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God come with power. The kingdom of God is with in you Christ in you the hope of glory. Luk 17:20 ASV - And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God cometh, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: You can see religion today in pomp and pageantry all the signs and symbols, man loves the idols and the statues. They bow down and worship them . They are the wood hay and stubble . 1Cr 3:11 ASV - For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Cr 3:12 ASV - But if any man buildeth on the foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1Cr 3:13 ASV - each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man's work of what sort it is.
1Cr 3:14 ASV - If any man's work shall abide which he built thereon, he shall receive a reward.
1Cr 3:15 ASV - If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire.
1Cr 3:16 ASV - Know ye not that ye are a temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Luk 17:21 ASV - neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you.
The desciples with him at that moment were also the same desciples in the upper room on the day of Pentecost. And were filled with the spirit of God and saw the kingdom come unto them it is Christ in you. The kingdom of God is being formed now as we speak and it is being form in you by Gods spirit. Jesus said you shall know them by their fruit . Mat 7:16 ASV - By their fruits ye shall know them. Do [men] gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:20 ASV - Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
1Jo 4:1 ASV - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1Jo 4:2 ASV - Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jo 4:3 ASV - and every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God: and this is the [spirit] of the antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it cometh; and now it is in the world already.
1Jo 4:4 ASV - Ye are of God, [my] little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
1Jo 4:5 ASV - They are of the world: therefore speak they [as] of the world, and the world heareth them. Jesus said tear down this temple speaking of his body and I will rebuild it in three days.
He said this evil generation seeks a sign , the only sign will be the sign of Jonah.
Hbr 10:16 ASV - This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws on their heart, And upon their mind also will I write them; [then saith he,]
God was not in the temple any longer he was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself. And when Christ came out of the grave he resurrected the house of God. He said if you crucify me( tear down this temple) I will draw all men unto me. God restored his Church through Christ in three days , with his death ,burial and resurrection. So we confess now that Christ has come in the flesh he has come in your flesh and every man and woman that believes in him. On the day of Pentecost he confirmed this word to his people. And every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God
Luk 13:35 ASV - Behold, your house is left unto you [desolate]: and I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. One Lord one faith and One Baptism. Eph 4:7 ASV - But unto each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Eph 4:8 ASV - Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
Eph 4:9 ASV - (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?
Eph 4:10 ASV - He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
Eph 4:11 ASV - And he gave some [to be] apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 ASV - for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 ASV - till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
If men deny the gifts of God to his church than so to will be the verse of scripture to them that believe not , Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. Desolate in the Greek with reference to persons, "deserted," desolate, deprived of the friends and kindred, e.g., of a woman deserted by a husband, Gal 4:2. ; so of a city, as Jerusalem, Mat 23:38; or uninhabited places, "desert," e.g., Mat 14:13, 15; Act 8:26; in Mar 1:35, RV, "desert," for AV, "solitary."
See DESOLATE, WILDERNESS.
A woman deserted by a husband ! remember the ten virgins five were wise and five were foolish. Christ is coming for his bride for he is the Bridegroom .
Luk 8:10 ASV - And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to the rest in parables; that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.
Luk 3:4 ASV - as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight.
Luk 3:5 ASV - Every valley shall be filled, And every mountain and hill shall be brought low; And the crooked shall become straight, And the rough ways smooth;
Luk 3:6 ASV - And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
This is Religion

Act 17:23 ASV - For as I passed along, and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. What therefore ye worship in ignorance, this I set forth unto you.
Act 17:24 ASV - The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Act 17:25 ASV - neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
Act 17:26 ASV - and he made of one every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, having determined [their] appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation;
Act 17:27 ASV - that they should seek God, if haply they might feel after him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us:
Act 17:28 ASV - for in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain even of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Jhn 10:7 ASV - Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

Jhn 10:10 ASV - The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have [it] abundantly.

Mar 9:1 ASV - And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There are some here of them that stand [by], who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God come with power.
You must be born again, be filled with his spirit ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE !
.Luk 17:20 ASV - And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God cometh, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luk 17:21 ASV - neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you.

1Cr 15:52 In The Twinkling Of An Eye
Luk 14:26 ASV - If any man cometh unto me, and hateth not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Luk 14:27 ASV - Whosoever doth not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Why are we here today what is the reason of our seeking the Lord and his word . We want the Lord and his blessings in our life , with the scripture we can see what God expects of us. The word is a doubled edge sword it can cut both ways to defending the word of God and also to the cutting of our flesh our old man and exposing the very intent of our heart to him. So its out of our heart that we speak and move and have our being. The word of God has come to expose our hearts and our very intent of living. A slothful man will not suffer pain of the cross to produce fruit. And what is fruit Gal 5:22 ASV - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Gal 5:23 ASV - meekness, self-control; against such there is no law. This is the light that John spoke of coming unto every man Jhn 1:9 ASV - There was the true light, [even the light] which lighteth every man, coming into the world. And some men love darkness more than the light.
Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: This word NAME in the Greek is what we must grasp , Onoma or all that a "name" implies, of authority, character, rank, majesty, power, excellence, etc., of everything that the "name" covers: Jesus said he came in his fathers name he came in the authority, character, rank, majesty, power, excellence of his father. He also said I and the father are one , he is the express image of God. It is not just saying the name it is manifesting that name in you life Christ in you greater is he that is in you than all the powers of darkness. When will the verse of scripture come true in your life that says the very gates of hell shall not prevail against YOU! God is calling a church a triumphant body of believers. Will you in Christ name cast out devils lay hands on the sick Mar 16:17 ASV - And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; For every believer Jesus said this gospel must be preached unto the ends of the earth , Mat 24:14 ASV - And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.
Mar 16:18 ASV - they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
The church calls this the great commission, they work to win souls to there doctrine but not the true gospel the good news Jesus preached. So who was Christ speaking this to. This is the word of God to those that will believe to you and I and as many as the Lord our God shall call. Men of the worldly church says this all died and passed away ! when was that and where is the scripture for that . Have you ask God if it is true have you sought him who can revel this truth to you. This is a powerless church with no hope it is not the gospel as we read it . That is why the church is so fragmented and helpless, so many sick and in need just as in the days of Jesus . The harvest is white and not many workers to go into the harvest. Mat 7:13 ASV - Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. Mat 22:10 ASV - And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests. Notice it says both bad and good .
Rev 19:7 KJV - Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. ,
Mat 22:11 ASV - But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment: this is the white garments of righteousness The word garment here is lampros = White, gleeming Mat 22:11 ASV - But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment: .
1Cr 15:49 ASV - And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Luk 11:34 ASV - The lamp of thy body is thine eye: when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when it is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. The word of God is the light in us. I dreamed a dream in 1973 , I was in a place like a stadium a large place to accommodate many people. And as I looked around there was many people there and it was as if we all had the same purpose of mind we were waiting for a great event to happen it was electric with anticipation. People were talking very low and in great order. When I noticed on the grass or field there was a small platform and there or four men seated their. When I noticed a man get up and walk off the platform and stand with his back to my side of the field. He raised his hands in praise and the people on the side he was facing began to praise God and shout to the Lord with great exuberance. And than he turned towards my side and I could see he was full of light , his eyes shining like lights as he moved his mouth I could see light coming out . He was praising God and his body was full of light. The dream when I awoke was so real as if I had been there actually been in the stadium and saw this wonderful sight. It has taken me many years of searching and pondering on this dream and what it could mean. I think now I know Luk 9:29 ASV - And as he was praying, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment [became] white [and] dazzling. The man on the field was full of light but yet he was still in his flesh, but his flesh was dead to the world, Just as John the baptist wore animal skins and leather it was dead flesh a type and a shadow for us. , the only thing in him was Christ the hope of glory . Christ was everything we are to become! he set the pattern and we are to follow. He was born with a flesh body and it had to die to over come death. Col 2:6 ASV - As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk in him, Paul said 1Cr 15:50 ASV - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Gal 2:20 ASV - I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that [life] which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, [the faith] which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. The father is coming for sons he is redeeming souls the flesh profits nothing. Col 1:27 ASV - to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: There is a wonderful truth here and the father desires to revel it to you the mystery that it is Christ in you the hope of glory. Mat 22:10 ASV - And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests. Notice it says both bad and good .
Rev 19:7 KJV - Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. ,
Mat 22:11 ASV - But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment: Th word garment here is lampros = white 1Cr 15:49 ASV - And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Mat 22:12 ASV - and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless.
Mat 22:13 ASV - Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Mat 22:14 ASV - For many are called, but few chosen.
When a man obeys the word of God with his heart, and repents of his sins (changes his mind for the better) and submits to this word he than becomes born again, Now just as Nicodemus ask Jesus how can a man be born again, Jhn 3:5 ASV - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God!
Jhn 3:6 ASV - That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
So there has to be a transformation here and he says it is the water of the word Eph 5:26 ASV - that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word.
Water and the Spirit the life giving source from God Just as the days of Pentecost they all were fill with the spirit and spoke with other tongues. 1Cr 2:14 ASV - Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged. You must be filled with the spirit and born again. In the beginning you were born on this earth by your natural fathers born of the loins of Adam. There were two Adams the first failed but the second Jesus did not fail ! he brought life everlasting to those that believed who were born, not of blood of your natural fathers, nor of the will of the flesh of your natural fathers, nor of the will of man your fathers, but of God. 1Cr 15:45 ASV - So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam [became] a life-giving spirit.
1Cr 15:46 ASV - Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual.
1Cr 15:47 ASV - The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.
1Cr 15:48 ASV - As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
1Cr 15:49 ASV - And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
1Cr 15:50 ASV - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Cr 15:51 ASV - Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Cr 15:52 ASV - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Cr 15:53 ASV - For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Cr 15:54 ASV - But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Cr 15:55 ASV - O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?
You must be born again being filled with the spirit this is the promise Jesus spoke of in John 16.
Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
Jhn 1:13 ASV - who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Jhn 1:14 ASV - And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.
Gal 5:24 ASV - And they that are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof. Here is the answer that we are looking for in our search for God , and they that are of Christ have crucified the flesh. Jesus said when you see me you see the father I and the father are one . If God is a spirit and the word says that it please God that Col 2:8 ASV - Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:
Col 2:9 ASV - for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,
Col 2:10 ASV - and in him ye are made full, who is the head of all principality and power:
For God was in this body of Jesus , 2Cr 5:19 ASV - to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation. There is a calling of God to you my friend and it is his love and his mercy to man kind. That you would become a first fruits 1Cr 15:20 ASV - But now hath Christ been raised from the dead, the first fruits of them that are asleep.
Jam 1:18 ASV - Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Christianity has deviated so far from the truth of the gospel and man made traditions and doctrines that make of no effect the word of grace.
Greek: mathetes
Disciple:
lit., "a learner" (from manthano, "to learn," from a root math--, indicating thought accompanied by endeavor), in contrast to didaskalos, "a teacher;" hence it denotes "one who follows one's teaching," as the "disciples" of John, Mat 9:14; of the Pharisees, Mat 22:16; of Moses, Jhn 9:28; it is used of the "disciples" of Jesus
(a) in a wide sense, of Jews who became His adherents, Jhn 6:66; Luk 6:17, some being secretly so, Jhn 19:38;
(b) especially of the twelve Apostles, Mat 10:1; Luk 22:11, e.g.;
(c) of all who manifest that they are His "disciples" by abiding in His Word, Jhn 8:31; cp. Jhn 13:35; 15:8;
(d) in the Acts, of those who believed upon Him and confessed Him, Jhn 6:1, 2, 7; 14:20, 22, 28; 15:10; 19:1, etc.
A "disciple" was not only a pupil, but an adherent; hence they are spoken of as imitators of their teacher; cp. Jhn 8:31; 15:8
CROSS "the crucifixion suffered," e.g., 1Cr 1:17, 18, where "the word of the cross," RV, stands for the Gospel; Gal 5:11, where crucifixion is metaphorically used of the renunciation of the world, that characterizes the true Christian life; Gal 6:12, 14; Eph 2:16; Phl 3:18.

Mat 10:40 ASV - He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
Luk 3:16 ASV - John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but there cometh he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and [in] fire:
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. FIRE IN THE GREEK of the holiness of God, which consumes all that is inconsistent therewith, Hbr 10:27; 12:29; cp. Rev 1:14; 2:18; 10:1; 15:2; 19:12; similarly of the holy angels as His ministers, Hbr 1:7; in Rev 3:18 it is symbolic of that which tries the faith of saints, producing what will glorify the Lord;
luke 3-17 ASV whose fan is in his hand, thoroughly to cleanse his threshing-floor, and to gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire. Mat 13:25 ASV - but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares also among the wheat, and went away.
Mat 13:30 ASV - Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.
Greek: ptuon
Fan:
denotes "a winnowing shovel or fan," with which grain is thrown up against the wind, in order to separate the chaff, Mat 3:12; Luk 3:17.
Greek: zizanion
Tares:
is a kind of darnel, the commonest of the four species, being the bearded, growing in the grain fields, as tall as wheat and barley, and resembling wheat in appearance. It was credited among the Jews with being degenerate wheat. The rabbis called it "bastard." The seeds are poisonous to man and herbivorous animals, producing sleepiness, nausea, convulsions and even death (they are harmless to poultry). The plants can be separated out, but the custom, as in the parable, is to leave the cleaning out till near the time of harvest, Mat 13:25-27, 29, 30, 36, 38, 40. The Lord describes the tares as "the sons of the evil one;" false teachings are indissociable from their propagandists.
