I have heard it said the eyes of man are the windows of his soul . What ever goes into the eye of a man rest in his heart, the light and the Lamp is symbolic of the righteous works of a man . Now we must realize Jesus is that light and the works are done in his name by his grace . Tit 3:5 ASV - not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,   

Luk 11:39 ASV - And the Lord said unto him, Now ye the Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter; but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.   The light of the body is the question , the flesh profits nothing . The Pharisees were looking through eyes of their flesh they saw he was not bathed as they, looking to the flesh and not the spiritual condition .  The word says Godly sorrow works unto repentence ,  They not only saw everything in the natural they were blind unable to see the spiritual .  People today setting in a pew believing they are right with God . Having no mercy or grace for there brothers and the light of their body is very dim.   The Pharisees had the law and not one of them could keep the Law they all failed in some part. And so they were guilty of breaking the whole Law.  So it is with the the New Law that we have through Christ Jesus the Law of grace and the Law of liberty through the blood of Christ . Yet we have a faithful high priest forever through his sacrifice upon the cross. 1Jo 1:9 ASV - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
    1Jo 1:7 ASV - but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
1Jo 1:8 ASV - If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1Jo 1:9 ASV - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jo 1:10 ASV - If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

I see in all of this the heart of man is what God is after , your mind ,will, and emotions .
When thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light ,  The sword Jesus brings is the whole word of God he said he speaks what he hears and he came to show us the father.  
Psa 19:9 ASV - The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever: The ordinances of Jehovah are true, and righteous altogether.    Not a fear of man but of power and love and discipline.

Body   Greek: soma         The "body" is not the man, for he himself can exist apart from his "body," 2Cr 12:2, 3. The "body" is an essential part of the man and therefore the redeemed are not perfected till the resurrection, Hbr 11:40; no man in his final state will be without his "body," Jhn 5:28, 29; Rev 20:13.    The word is also used for physical nature, as distinct from pneuma, "the spiritual nature," e.g., 1Cr 5:3, and from psuche, "the soul," e.g., 1Th 5:23. "Soma, 'body,' and pneuma, 'spirit,' may be separated; pneuma and psuche, 'soul,' can only be distinguished"

As I have wrote before and again this time . I am a man uneducated as the world reckons its own I do not profess to have any knowledge or learning with credentials .   I was rotten to the core in my early life proud and arrogant full of my flesh.  My father died at an early age and I to was very young and in great need at the time of direction .  I grew up fast in the time of rebellion in the sixties and I lived that life to the fullest .  If any man needed a savior it was I , Alcohol and drugs adultery etc.   The pit I was digging was over my head and I could not see where I was going any longer .   In a night when I was over taken by despair and darkness I made a simple prayer I did not know how to pray I said Lord if you are real I can not carry on any longer I need you to save me from myself help me Lord.  Little did I know he was there all the time , and he is there with you right now.  The light came and exposed my flesh and my sin .  Over the months to come he was there working in me and guiding me and I did not even know it.  In one year my life changed completely he answered that prayer . That was almost forty years ago ,  I have been in a wilderness very dry time and through trials and painful experiences , falling down and getting back up , even hard christening's things beyond natural understanding . He has been with me through it all Jesus is the savior of my soul .  I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb filled with the Holy Ghost I am all my sins are under the blood I am redeemed.   As I slept one night long ago I had a dream and in this dream I was setting in a large place , like a place for sporting events.     I was seated in the middle of many people the place was full of people , and they had this expectation as if they were waiting for something the anticipation was very high.  They were speaking very soft to each other with a reverence . And in the middle of this facility was a field and on the field was a very small platform . I saw on the platform some men seated and all the people as I were looking at these men.  One man stood up and proceeded to walk down to the field. When he walked out on the grass he looked across the field to the other side from me he raised his hands high in praise towards the people and they began to shout and praise the Lord they were ecstatic over joyed.
And than he began to slowly turn towards my side , and when I saw him fully he was full of light he radiated with light very bright light I could see his flesh but light shone out of his body . His eyes were as flash lights shining outwards I could see he was praising God his mouth was full of light .  And he held his hands high and it was so real as if I were there and it was in color I saw this light shinning bright in this mans body. It was very intense and real.   And than I woke and I was shaking I was trying to understand what I had just saw ,  It has been many years since I had that dream and kept it to myself I wondered many times at the meaning of this dream and what God was showing me concerning it.    Well I know now and so do you The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light..  Salvation is an on going life we live one day at a time from glory to glory , and one day we shall see that light in all its glory face to face.       1Jo 3:2 ASV - Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.

Appear, Appearing:
akin to No. 1, signifies, in the Active Voice, "to manifest;" in the Passive Voice, "to be manifested;" so, regularly, in the RV, instead of "to appear." See 2Cr 7:12; Col 3:4; Hbr 9:26; 1Pe 5:4; 1Jo 2:28; 3:2; Rev 3:18. To be manifested, in the Scriptural sense of the word, is more than to "appear." A person may "appear" in a false guise or without a disclosure of what he truly is; to be manifested is to be revealed in one's true character; this is especially the meaning of phaneroo, see, e.g., Jhn 3:21; 1Cr 4:5; 2Cr 5:10, 11; Eph 5:13.
Col 1:26 ASV - even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,
