Treasures In Heaven

 Luke 16Amplified Bible (AMP)
The Unjust Steward (Manager)

16 Now Jesus was also saying to the disciples, “There was a certain rich man who had a manager [of his estate], and accusations [against this man] were brought to him, that this man was squandering his [master’s] possessions. 2 So he called him and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an accounting of your management [of my affairs], for you can no longer be [my] manager.’ 3 The manager [of the estate] said to himself, ‘What will I do, since my master is taking the management away from me? I am not strong enough to dig [for a living], and I am ashamed to beg. 4 I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from the management, people [who are my master’s debtors] will welcome me into their homes.’ 5 So he summoned his master’s debtors one by one, and he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ 6 He said, ‘A hundred measures of [olive] oil.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’ 7 Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ He said, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’ 8 And his master commended the unjust manager [not for his misdeeds, but] because he had acted shrewdly [by preparing for his future unemployment]; for the sons of this age [the non-believers] are shrewder in relation to their own kind [that is, to the ways of the secular world] than are the sons of light [the believers]. 9 And I tell you [learn from this], make friends for yourselves [for eternity] by means of the wealth of unrighteousness [that is, use material resources as a way to further the work of God], so that when it runs out, they will welcome you into the eternal dwellings.

10 “He who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much; and he who is dishonest in a very little thing is also dishonest in much. 11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of earthly wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you? 12 And if you have not been faithful in the use of that [earthly wealth] which belongs to another [whether God or man, and of which you are a trustee], who will give you that which is your own? 13 No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand devotedly by the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon [that is, your earthly possessions or anything else you trust in and rely on instead of God].”
A wonderful truth here very important to lay hold of this word and obey , if you belong to Christ than this is for you .   We were bought with a price , the blood of Jesus paid the ransom for our life's'
According to Isaiah 61 we are that people that were living in darkness , blind  and naked as to righteousness , in prison to our fleshly appetites with no hope of liberty from our being captured
by this world.    Isa 61:1 ASV - The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Isa 61:2 ASV - to proclaim the year of Jehovah's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Isa 61:3 ASV - to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.

Luk 4:18 ASV - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,  Bruised in  Greek: thrauo   Bruise:
"to smite through, shatter," is used in Luk 4:18, "them that are bruised," i.e., broken by calamity.
He hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted , who has a broken heart today . This word is to you it is you day to fall at the feet of Jesus and ask for that anointing to to bind up the wounded heart .  The word Bind in the Heb for the verse in Isaiah 61  has a duel meaning it also stands for a crown to bind upon them with a crown .
This prophetic word is not just for the Jew but to us also remember we are the other sheep .

Psa 34:18 ASV - Jehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
Psa 51:17 ASV - The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Only the Lord can know this broken and contrite heart .

1Co 6:17 ASV - But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
1Co 6:18 ASV - Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
1Co 6:19 ASV - Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own;
1Co 6:20 ASV - for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.

 I like to use several versions of the word to get a full meaning of what God is tying to say to me . He speaks to us in his word and in our spirit  .
Jhn 10:16 ASV - And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.  Jesus said his father sent him first to the Jews , he was prophesied to the Jew first and than the gentile.  The Gentile being the other sheep   of Jesus you and I.
Jhn 10:27 ASV - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Rev 3:20 ASV - Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. its never to late to repent to have a change of mind to fall on the rock which is Jesus and be broken unto a repentance that brings heart felt sorrow .
The Lord speaks to us in his word we hear his voice in his word
As to the unjust steward Jesus speaks this parable to us directly , we are called and by obedience to this word we will be chosen to present our invitations to the master of the wedding feast .
This whole parable is to bring understanding to our spirit of giving to being cheerful and glad to give to Gods kingdom .   We first see a man who is worldly and has charge of the Lords goods his kingdom .  He is very wise to deceit and greed he is a son of the world , he has no light of Gods word .  He takes that which is not his to better accommodate his style of living.  Theft never enters his mind he is blinded to the ways of the world.  But when he is caught he immediately begins to make a way for himself for the coming judgement . He says he will not beg and he is to feeble to dig for a living .  So he decides to once again to use his masters wealth to server himself , through deceit and theft . He says if I give them a bill with only half of what they owe than will I obligate them to me for a favor a little insurance for the coming trial of bring caught.  If we think about this a little it happens all the time in the natural world , in the world of finance men are caught every day of misappropriations of others money .   Now this parable is about the sons of this age this world .
The carnal mind of man  lust of the flesh lust of the eyes all that is in the world       1Jo 2:16 ASV - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vain glory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.    And his master commended the unjust manager [not for his misdeeds, but] because he had acted shrewdly [by preparing for his future unemployment]; for the sons of this age [the non-believers] are shrewder in relation to their own kind [that is, to the ways of the secular world] than are the sons of light [the believers]. 9 And I tell you [learn from this], make friends for yourselves [for eternity] by means of the wealth of unrighteousness [that is, use material resources as a way to further the work of God], so that when it runs out, they will welcome you into the eternal dwellings.
I knew a brother long ago and he would tell me about giving to others and the truth of being faithful
he would say you cannot out squeeze the Lord and you cannot out give him .  Being tight fisted with your money holding on to your stuff . And you can definitely cannot out give the Lord concerning yourself .  The Lord is watching you in secret and will reward you .
Mat 6:19 ASV - Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal:
Mat 6:20 ASV - but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth consume, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Mat 6:21 ASV - for where thy treasure is, there will thy heart be also.
Mat 6:22 ASV - The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Mat 6:23 ASV - But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is the darkness!
Mat 6:24 ASV - No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

  And than he says but we are the sons of light the believers of his eternal habitations for us .  We do not just live for today and than die and that is the end of life , no we live unto righteousness to right standing in the Lord , seeing that city That Abraham and Sarah was looking for that bright city not made with hands that heavenly abode .
