Jesus The Author And Perfecter Of Our Faith

Col 1:12 ASV - giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;
Col 1:13 ASV - who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love;
Col 1:14 ASV - in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins:
Col 1:15 ASV - who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;
Col 1:16 ASV - for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;
Col 1:17 ASV - and he is before all things, and in him all things consist.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation .   This is not speaking of flesh and bone it is speaking of the spirit of God his attributes his fruit .      Gal 5:22 ASV - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Gal 5:23 ASV - meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 ASV - And they that are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof.
Gal 5:25 ASV - If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk.  This is fruit unto perfection

Greek: eikon  Image:
of man as he was created as being a visible representation of God, 1Cr 11:7, a being corresponding to the original; the condition of man as a fallen creature has not entirely effaced the "image;" he is still suitable to bear responsibility, he still has Godlike qualities, such as love of goodness and beauty, none of which are found in a mere animal; in the Fall man ceased to be a perfect vehicle for the representation of God; God's grace in Christ will yet accomplish more than what Adam lost;   of Christ in relation to God, 2Cr 4:4, "the image of God," i.e., essentially and absolutely the perfect expression and representation of the Archetype, God the Father; in Col 1:15, "the image of the invisible God" gives the additional thought suggested by the word "invisible," that Christ is the visible representation and manifestation of God to created beings; the likeness expressed in this manifestation is involved in the essential relations in the Godhead, and is therefore unique and perfect; "he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father," Jhn 14:9. "The epithet "invisible."... must not be confined to the apprehension of the bodily senses, but will include the cognizance of the inward eye also"

(b) of regenerate persons, in being moral representations of what God is, Col 3:10; cp. Eph 4:24;

Greek: aoratos   Invisible:
lit., "unseen" (a, negative, horao, "to see"), is translated "invisible" in Rom 1:20, of the power and divinity of God; of God Himself, Col 1:15; 1Ti 1:17; Hbr 11:27; of things unseen, Col 1:16. In the Sept., Gen 1:2; Isa 45:3, "unseen (treasures).

And here is the question Who is !   the image of the invisible God , Christ is that image and we must manifest that same image .  Jesus came to show us the father to manifest his Father to mankind . For God was in Christ manifesting himself in Christ reconciling mankind the world back to himself .

2Co 5:17 ASV - Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.
2Co 5:18 ASV - But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 ASV - to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Greek: katallage

Reconcile, Reconciliation:
akin to A, No. 1, primarily "an exchange," denotes "reconciliation," a change on the part of one party, induced by an action on the part of another; in the NT, the "reconciliation" of men to God by His grace and love in Christ. The word is used in Rom 5:11; 11:15. The occasioning cause of the world-wide proclamation of "reconciliation" through the Gospel, was the casting away (partially and temporarily) of Israel. A new relationship Godward is offered to the Gentiles in the Gospel. The word also occurs in 2Cr 5:18, 19, where "the ministry of reconciliation" and "the word of reconciliation" are not the ministry of teaching the doctrine of expiation, but that of beseeching men to be "reconciled" to God on the ground of what God has wrought in Christ.
Restoring what Adam lost in his disobedience to Gods commandants.   Mankind at that very moment was the in the seed of Adam as to the curse place upon him by God.
Going to the very beginning of creation .

 Gen 1:1 ASV - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Gen 1:26 ASV - And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 ASV - And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.   Who was God speaking to here in this verse 26 ,  Christ the first born of all creation and who's image was Christ created in !  his Fathers . God the father made man in the same image as Jesus , not a body but a spiritual being and than a body .
Every man born on this earth has Gods breath in him at the moment a person is born into this earth God breaths his breath in that flesh and it becomes a living Soul .  We are born of the flesh as Adam and God the father has come to restore his complete purpose and intent in you.
God is your father he set a time for you to be born and a time for you to die , he knows you very well . And through you in your flesh he is reconciling the world back to himself .  Jesus was born of the flesh just as you and I.   Rom 8:3 ASV - For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
2Co 5:17 ASV - Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.
2Co 5:18 ASV - But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 ASV - to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
The father made a body and it was wonderfully made ,  our bodies are a vehicle for our souls to ride in . But God's intention was for man was to Love him and give back to him our very life's ! body ,soul and spirit .    1Th 5:5 ASV - for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness;
1Th 5:9 ASV - For God appointed us not into wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
1Th 5:23 ASV - And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The word says that when we see Jesus in the spirit we are looking at ourselfs or that is the intent of God the father .
1Co 13:12 ASV - For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known.
2Co 3:18 ASV - But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.
Jas 1:23 ASV - For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:
The word Doer   Greek: poietes  Poet:
primarily, "a maker," later "a doer" (poieo "to make, to do"), was used, in classical Greek, of "an author," especially a "poet;" so Act 17:28.

Heb 12:1 ASV - Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2 ASV - looking unto, Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.    This word perfecter is our journey through this life with Jesus , And those that believed on his Name gave he the right to BECOME sons of God . who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  We go from our flesh father Adams nature to the nature of our spiritual father and Jesus is his image and we are to be perfected through that Image .
Luk 8:14 ASV - And that which fell among the thorns, these are they that have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.  Jesus was sowing his fathers word in our hearts he is the word made flesh .If we follow after him and obey his commandants , than we shall be in his likeness and sons of God .
1Jo 3:2 ASV - Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.  Manifested    Greek: phaneroo

Appear, Appearing:
akin to No. 1, signifies, in the Active Voice, "to manifest;" in the Passive Voice, "to be manifested;" so, regularly, in the RV, instead of "to appear." See 2Cr 7:12; Col 3:4; Hbr 9:26; 1Pe 5:4; 1Jo 2:28; 3:2; Rev 3:18. To be manifested, in the Scriptural sense of the word, is more than to "appear." A person may "appear" in a false guise or without a disclosure of what he truly is; to be manifested is to be revealed in one's true character; this is especially the meaning of phaneroo, see, e.g., Jhn 3:21; 1Cr 4:5; 2Cr 5:10, 11; Eph 5:13.

Jhn 12:46 ASV - I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me may not abide in the darkness.
1Jo 1:5 ASV - And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
Jhn 1:1 ASV - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jhn 1:2 ASV - The same was in the beginning with God.
Jhn 1:3 ASV - All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made.
Jhn 1:4 ASV - In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Act 17:24 -  God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Act 17:25 -  Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
Act 17:26 -  And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
Act 17:27 -  That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
Act 17:28 -  For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

 A wonderful plan a precious love of God to us all . Angels are create for one purpose as ministers of God spiritual beings , they have no body like you and I . Why because God had a plan from the very beginning .
 Heb 1:2 ASV - hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds;
Heb 1:3 ASV - who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Heb 1:6 ASV - And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
Heb 1:7 ASV - And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels winds, And his ministers a flame a fire:

The father is not coming back for our flesh he is coming for the fruit of his son Jesus Christ in us .
Jesus is the Way The Truth And The Life

Col 1:26 ASV - even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,
Col 1:27 ASV - to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ In You , the hope of glory:
