For no word from God shall be void of power.
Mat 26:12 ASV - For in that she poured this ointment upon my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. This ointment was a symbol of and for the life and death of Christ . It was never applied until after the death of a person not before their death . That is why this verse is so wonderful in that it was signifying his resurrection not his death . The flesh had to die because Jesus came in the likeness of mans flesh in our likeness , sinful flesh . Gentiles were considered sinners at birth by the Jews .
Gal 2:16 ASV - yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Jesus died a physical death ONCE and for all , he died on a physical cross once for all of mankind . Our cross is spiritual and it is the only way for us to inherit life eternal , Jesus said to pick up your cross and follow me . Jhn 19:38 ASV - And after these things Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took away his body.
Jhn 19:39 ASV - And there came also Nicodemus, he who at the first came to him by night, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. What I am looking at here is both of these men represent Gods people today . They believed in Jesus but because of their religion and lack of faith they were bound by their fears .
Jhn 19:40 ASV - So they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. The disciples were with Jesus in the days of his ministry traveling through the villages and saw him raise people from the dead and heal the sick cast out devils .
All through the scriptures the three years Jesus walk this earth and preached his fathers gospel , he told his disciples he would be crucified for the sins of the world .
Jhn 12:31 ASV - Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. Before the son of God was born into this earth , all men were locked away in the sin of Adam . God cursed Adam and his offspring , Yes I believe God is all knowing and his way are higher than I ways . The old Testament was a testament as to something to come something new .
Rom 5:14 ASV - Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam’s transgression, who is a figure of him that was to come.
1Co 15:22 ASV - For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:45 ASV - So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
Jde 1:14 ASV - And to these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones,
Jesus was the pattern the complete example of Gods will for all man kind
Jhn 12:32 ASV - And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself.
Jhn 12:33 ASV - But this he said, signifying by what manner of death he should die. Cross Stauros "the crucifixion suffered," e.g., 1Cr 1:17, 18, where "the word of the cross," RV, stands for the Gospel; Gal 5:11, where crucifixion is metaphorically used of the renunciation of the world, that characterizes the true Christian life; Gal 6:12, 14; Eph 2:16; Phl 3:18
Luk 24:44 ASV - And he said unto them, These are my words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me.
Luk 24:45 ASV - Then opened he their mind, that they might understand the scriptures; Opened Greek metaphorically, of the eyes, Mar 7:34; Luk 24:31; of the Scriptures, Luk 24:32; Act 17:3; of the mind, Luk 24:45, RV (AV, "understanding"); of the heart, Act 16:14. Mind Greek the new nature, which belongs to the believer by reason of the new birth, Rom 7:23, 25, where it is contrasted with "the flesh," the principle of evil which dominates fallen man. Under (b) may come 2Th 2:2, where it stands for the determination to be steadfast amidst afflictions, through the confident expectation of the day of rest and recompense mentioned in the first chapter. Rom 12:1 ASV - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. How do we present our bodies as a sacrifice yet while we live ? And how do we do this sacrifice , could Paul be referring to our cross our spiritual cross. The church today preaches a different gospel than that of Christ , Paul said they were enemies of the cross . Whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. Phl 3:3 ASV - for we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh: The key here is the power of the Holy Spirit in the believers life , walking in the flesh is mans down fall . Jesus died for the reconciliation of all man kind he said If I do not go to my cross and suffer the shame of the cross , The Passover Lamb he made not a sound as he was led to his cross , in the end he said father for give them they know not what they are doing . There is only one way to recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit , The Death Of a Cross
Phl 3:18 ASV - For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Today people are fearful of the future they are looking at a suffering coming to their very house. We are seeing Matt 24 as Jesus spoke about and the very signs of the times coming to bear. Only this word of truth will save us in the end , and the fact that we believe and obey . Religion is that enemy it changes the word of God to suit the flesh , man explains away the truth of the gospel . A cross is the instrument by which your flesh must succumb to . Whosoever doth not bear his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. A cross a well known instrument of most cruel and ignominious punishment . Remembering the soul of a man will live for ever it never dies , our worldly life our carnal man Adams nature it is called the flesh . Our flesh is that instrument of sin . Colo 2:13-23
Rom 12:2 ASV - And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Having the mind of the flesh 1Jo 2:16 ASV - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
You must be born again ! really born again not as the worldly church preaches but as the true gospel preaches . With out true repentance a broken and contrite heart you cannot see the kingdom of God , according to scripture the gift of God . But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Mat 11:28 ASV - Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 ASV - Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 ASV - For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Greek: zugos Yoke, Yoked:
"a yoke," serving to couple two things together, is used metaphorically, of submission to authority, Mat 11:29, 30, of Christ's "yoke," not simply imparted by Him but shared with Him; Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me
Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name: John the baptist came preaching repentance in Jesus name , and the only way we can receive any thing of God is to have a Godly sorrow and letting that repentance work in us .
Jhn 1:13 ASV - who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. This is where we die to our old man Adams flesh and become born again by taking on the flesh of Christ his word in us , to be born again is to die first to our carnal nature and take on the mind of Christ . Having the Holy Ghost is an absolute experience just as the one hundred and twenty had on the day of Pentecost . Act 2:33 ASV - Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear. Jesus said I must go away( to his cross) so that you may receive the promise of the Holy Spirit.
Act 2:36 ASV - Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.
Act 2:37 ASV - Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do?
Act 2:38 ASV - And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Act 2:39 ASV - For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even As Many As The Lord Our God Shall Call Unto Him. Rev 3:20 ASV - Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Is Jesus calling you today my friend , Just ask him to revel this word to you . Luk 11:13 ASV - If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Act 2:40 ASV - And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation.
Jhn 1:14 ASV - And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth. We feed on his flesh by believing and obeying completely the word of God and His blood we drink is to manifest his life in our daily living . Be ye holy as your father in heaven is holy , is this possible Jesus said it and I believe it
Col 1:26 ASV - even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints, This is the mystery that is being manifested to Gods people the power of his spirit being filled to the full of his Holy Spirit and over flowing with this wonderful gift .
Col 1:27 ASV - to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:. Being able to discern with all the body of believers the Body and the Blood of Christ in their daily life's 1Co 11:31 ASV - But if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.
Jhn 6:53 ASV - Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in yourselves.
Jhn 6:55 ASV - For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
Jhn 6:56 ASV - He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him.
Luk 24:46 ASV - and he said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day;
Luk 24:47 ASV - and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
Luk 24:48 ASV - Ye are witnesses of these things.
Luk 24:49 ASV - And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high.
Mat 27:50 ASV - And Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.
Mat 27:51 ASV - And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake; and the rocks were rent; The veil here is a type and shadow of mans flesh . Our fleshly life our old carnal way is what separates us from God . Jesus became the resurrection life
Mat 27:52 ASV - and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints that had fallen asleep were raised;
Mat 27:53 ASV - and coming forth out of the tombs after his resurrection they entered into the holy city and appeared unto many.
Psa 68:18 KJV - Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them. Eph 4:8 ASV - Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.
Eph 4:9 ASV - (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth?
Eph 4:10 ASV - He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.)
1Pe 3:18 ASV - Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
1Pe 3:19 ASV - in which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison,
This ointment was for his sacrifice a pleasing aroma unto his father . As the Lamb in Exodus was a pleasing sacrifice . Psa 51:7 ASV - Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Eph 5:2 ASV - and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell.
Greek: muron Ointment:
a word derived by the ancients from muro, "to flow," or from murra, "myrrh-oil" (it is probably of foreign origin; see MYRRH). The "ointment" is mentioned in the NT in connection with the anointing of the Lord on the occasions recorded in Mat 26:7, 9, 12; Mar 14:3, 4; Luk 7:37, 38, 46; Jhn 11:2; 12:3 (twice), 5. The alabaster cruse mentioned in the passages in Matthew, Mark and Luke was the best of its kind, and the spikenard was one of the costliest of perfumes. "Ointments" were used in preparing a body for burial, Luk 23:56 ("oinments"). Of the act of the woman mentioned in Mat 26:6-13, the Lord said, "she did it to prepare Me for burial;" her devotion led her to antedate the customary ritual after death, by showing both her affection and her understanding of what was impending. For the use of the various kinds of "ointments" as articles of commerce, see Rev 18:13.
Act 2:27 ASV - Because thou wilt not leave my soul unto Hades, Neither wilt thou give thy Holy One to see corruption. David was saying because Jesus would see no corruption and because he lives I shall live also, I shall see eternal life . The spiritual of this word is what we are looking for , the type and the shadow the mystery Paul spoke about in Col 1:27 ASV - to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Greek: musterion Mystery:
primarily that which is known to the mustes, "the initiated" (from mueo, "to initiate into the mysteries;" cp. Phl 4:12, mueomai, "I have learned the secret," RV). In the NT it denotes, not the mysterious (as with the Eng. word), but that which, being outside the range of unassisted natural apprehension, can be made known only by Divine revelation, and is made known in a manner and at a time appointed by God, and to those only who are illumined by His Spirit. In the ordinary sense a "mystery" implies knowledge withheld; its Scriptual significance is truth revealed. Hence the terms especially associated with the subject are "made known," "manifested," "revealed," "preached," "understand," "dispensation." The definition given above may be best illustrated by the following passage: "the mystery which hath been hid from all ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to His saints" (Col 1:26, RV). "It is used of:
Psa 51:6 ASV - Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts; And in the hidden part thou wilt make me to know wisdom. It is our hearts that God cleanses and restores back to himself
Psa 51:7 ASV - Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. We need the hyssop to apply the precious blood of Jesus to our hearts , Paul speaks about this in 1Co 11:29 ASV - For he that eateth and drinketh, eateth and drinketh judgment unto himself, if he discern not the body.
1Co 11:31 ASV - But if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.
