The Cup Of Eternal Life

Mat 20:20 ASV - Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, worshipping him, and asking a certain thing of him.
Mat 20:21 ASV - And he said unto her, What wouldest thou? She saith unto him, Command that these my two sons may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy kingdom .  There is a matter of sacrifice to be made here , as to being called and also chosen .                Rom 12:1 ASV - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.    And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.  We see here that Gods perfect will for all man kind is to become a living sacrifice
Mat 10:38 ASV - And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.  The cross here is an instrument of suffering spiritually we must die to our carnal desires . Jesus has delivered us from the power of sin and death .  Jesus said he was the door unto the sheep fold     Jhn 14:5 ASV - Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how know we the way?     Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Luk 12:50 ASV - But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!  Straitened  Greek: sunecho
Anguish:  akin to A, No. 3, lit., "to hold together," is used physically of being held, or thronged, Luk 8:45; 19:43; 22:63; of being taken with a malady, Mat 4:24; Luk 4:38; Act 28:8; with fear, Luk 8:37; of being straitened or pressed in spirit, with desire, Luk 12:50; Act 18:5; Phl 1:23;   Jesus took the cup of anguish for the sins of the world .   And we have our cup to drink also , our cup is to obey his gospel to the fullest we as children must get on our cross and put to death our carnal appetites .  Jesus was preaching the cross as he walked the earth .   It is a spiritual death we die just as he died the physical death as the lamb of his fathers sacrifice .    We die to self our carnal nature of Adam we let this word of the spirit the sword of truth cut away every thing in our life's that does not conform to this gospel.
Luk 3:16 ASV - John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but there cometh he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire:     Fire pur  of the holiness of God, which consumes all that is inconsistent therewith, Hbr 10:27; 12:29; cp. Rev 1:14; 2:18; 10:1; 15:2; 19:12; similarly of the holy angels as His ministers, Hbr 1:7; in Rev 3:18 it is symbolic of that which tries the faith of saints, producing what will glorify the Lord;   of the Divine judgment, testing the deeds of believers, at the judgment seat of Christ, 1Cr 3:13, 15;

Mat 16:24 ASV - Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.   For whosoever would save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it.   For what shall a man be profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?    For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds. Rom 6:2 ASV - God forbid. We who died to sin, how shall we any longer live therein?   Or are ye ignorant that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?   We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.   For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection;  knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin;

Heb 12:14 ASV - Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord:  Sanctification       separation to God, 1Cr 1:30; 2Th 2:13; 1Pe 1:2; the resultant state, the conduct befitting those so separated, 1Th 4:3, 4, 7, and the four other places mentioned above. "Sanctification" is thus the state predetermined by God for believers, into which in grace He calls them, and in which they begin their Christian course and so pursue it. Hence they are called "saints" (hagioi).

Mat 20:22 ASV - But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink? They say unto him, We are able.    Jesus is saying here to set in my fathers kingdom you must drink of the cup I am about to drink .          Mat 20:23 ASV - He saith unto them, My cup indeed ye shall drink: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left hand, is not mine to give; but it is for them for whom it hath been prepared of my Father.    The father has given his son as the door into his kingdom and for a man to be worthy .    Jhn 10:7 ASV - Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

Jhn 10:9 ASV - I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.   Jesus says he is the door into his fathers kingdom and there is no other way unto God but through him .  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.  As to religions there is only one way to receive eternal salvation . It is in his word Jesus is the same today as he was in that day , Mat 16:6 ASV - And Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.  Leaven Zume     of corrupt doctrine, Mat 13:33; Luk 13:21, of error as mixed with the truth (there is no valid reason for regarding the symbol here differently from its application elsewhere in the NT); Mat 16:6, 11; Mar 8:15 (1st part); Luk 12:1; that the kingdom of heaven is likened to "leaven," does not mean that the kingdom is "leaven." The same statement, as made in other parables, shows that it is the whole parable which constitutes the similitude of the kingdom; the history of Christendom confirms the fact that the pure meal of the doctrine of Christ has been adulterated with error .

The only absolute truth for you to have and believe is Gods word , their is no other doctrine or gospel that can save man kind .  Jhn 10:7 ASV - Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.  All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.  I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.   The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

2Th 2:1 ASV - Now we beseech you, brethren, touching the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto him;  to the end that ye be not quickly shaken from your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by epistle as from us, as that the day of the Lord is just at hand; let no man beguile you in any wise: for it will not be, except the falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,  he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God.
1Pe 4:6 ASV - For unto this end was the gospel preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.   But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer:

Jhn 12:47 ASV - And if any man hear my sayings, and keep them not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.   He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day.    There is only one gospel and Jesus said in       Luk 4:18 ASV - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,   To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Jhn 6:35 ASV - Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Jhn 6:48 ASV - I am the bread of life.

Having Ears To Hear And Eyes To See

Pro 4:11 ASV - I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in paths of uprightness.
Pro 4:12 ASV - When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; And if thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
Pro 4:13 ASV - Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: Keep her; for she is thy life.

Luk 23:27 ASV - And there followed him a great multitude of the people, and of women who bewailed and lamented him.
Luk 23:28 ASV - But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
Luk 23:29 ASV - For behold, the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the breasts that never gave suck.
Luk 23:30 ASV - Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
Luk 23:31 ASV - For if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

With great haste they brought him to his cross , Jesus was nail to a green tree symbolizing his deity and authority .    And the dry tree symbolizing their rejection of the son of God and its  consequences of rejecting Gods only son .        Luk 13:35 ASV - Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

   Green tree      Greek: hugros  Green:
denotes "wet, moist" (the opposite of xeros, "dry"); said of wood, sappy, "green," Luk 23:31, i.e., if they thus by the fire of their wrath treated Christ, the guiltless, holy, the fruitful, what would be the fate of the perpetrators, who were like the dry wood, exposed to the fire of Divine wrath.
The tree     Greek: xulon   of "the cross," the tree being the stauros, the upright pale or stake to which Romans nailed those who were thus to be executed, Act 5:30; 10:39; 13:29; Gal 3:13; 1Pe 2:24;    as a beam from which any one is suspended, a gibbet, a cross
Dry   Greek: hugros  Green denotes "wet, moist" (the opposite of xeros, "dry"); said of wood, sappy, "green," Luk 23:31, i.e., if they thus by the fire of their wrath treated Christ, the guiltless, holy, the fruitful, what would be the fate of the perpetrators, who were like the dry wood, exposed to the fire of Divine wrath.    figuratively, in Luk 23:31, with reference to the spiritual "barrenness" of the Jews, in contrast to the character of the Lord. Cp. Psa 1:3; Isa 56:3; Eze 17:24; 20:47.

By reading this account in the gospels of his arrest and judgement We can see there was  such hatred and malice and it all took place in the same time span .  From his arrest to his crucifixion it was nonstop until they saw him die on that green tree . The weight of the sin of the world had its way for those hours of his agony  .   For God loved the world that he gave his only begotten son for the sins of the world and we being that world , Isa 53:10 ASV - Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.    Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:    who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.   We lose our identity with Adam and his flesh ,  being born again of God  .

1Co 15:45 ASV - So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. Being born of the water and of his spirit   .
2Co 3:3 ASV - being made manifest that ye are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in tables that are hearts of flesh.
2Co 3:6 ASV - who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Jhn 13:27 ASV - And after the sop, then entered Satan into him. Jesus therefore saith unto him, What thou doest, do quickly.   So now the sign the Jews ask for was coming ,   Judas was the sign in prophecy spoken in the old testament and Jesus was betrayed for thirty pieces of silver . Silver is a type of the blood of Christ he paid the ransom for mankind with his blood sacrifice .Lev 17:11 ASV - For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life.   Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.   But the governor answered and said unto them, Which of the two will ye that I release unto you? And they said, Barabbas.

Mat 27:21 ASV - But the governor answered and said unto them, Which of the two will ye that I release unto you? And they said, Barabbas.
Mat 27:26 ASV - Then released he unto them Barabbas; but Jesus he scourged and delivered to be crucified.    Barabbas = "son of a father or master"  Barabbas is a type of lost mankind he was the type and shadow of you and I  and he was destine to go to his death on the cross just as the other two lost men .       This is the judgement for their sin ,   Pilate already had Barabbas judged and condemned for crucifixion .    This is where our Passover Lamb comes becomes our savior  he is crucified  instead of Barabbas Jesus takes our place on the cross .

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:  Rom 8 : 1-11                                          For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life.
Judas in  Greek = Son of a father or some writings say son of a rabbi ,  Judas was not just a disciple he was a chosen as an Apostle one of the twelve . He was in the time of his walking with Jesus  appointed to hold the bag of money that would be given to  Jesus and the other Apostles for their  support in ministry .

Mat 10:1 ASV - And he called unto him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease and all manner of sickness.  Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother . Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; ;    Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him .
A disciple is a learner of the gospel of God  Jesus taught ,  and an Apostle was one that was sent to preach that gospel.   Judas was an Apostle as the scripture below shows ,

Juda Iscariot  prophetically
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who did eat of my bread, Hath lifted up his heel against me.

Jesus knew who Judas Iscariot was from the beginning of his ministry , it was prophetically written in the old testament foretelling of the coming Christ the messiah
Psa 41:9 ASV - Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who did eat of my bread, Hath lifted up his heel against me.
Jhn 13:18 ASV - I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth my bread lifted up his heel against me.   And after the sop, then entered Satan into him. Jesus therefore saith unto him, What thou doest, do quickly.    Satan entered  Judas and then Judas betrayed Jesus Christ .

Jhn 2:18 ASV - The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
Jhn 2:19 ASV - Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Jhn 2:20 ASV - The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
Jhn 2:21 ASV - But he spake of the temple of his body.

Mat 12:40 ASV - for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.   Death , burial and his resurrection .        Eph 4:8 ASV - Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, And gave gifts unto men.  (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;     for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:  till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:  Jesus is the light of the world      Eph 5:8 ASV - For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light  Eph 5:9 ASV - (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
Eph 5:10 ASV - proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;
Eph 5:11 ASV - and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them;

Friends this is the full gospel pertaining to the prophecy of Isaiah 61 and also the fulfillment of it in    Luk 4:17 ASV - And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And he opened the book, and found the place where it was written,  he Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor:
He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives,
And recovering of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty them that are bruised,    This word bruised is to be shattered

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.     And he closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down: and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.     And he began to say unto them, To-day hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.    Jesus and his life in scripture is the sign we adhear to we believe . We that believe must take on his death burial and we shall ressurect with him at his coming  Luk 2:34 ASV - and Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel; and for a sign which is spoken against;   Sign Greek: semeion  Miracle:
"a sign, mark, token" (akin to semaino, "to give a sign;" sema, "a sign"), is used of "miracles" and wonders as signs of Divine authority; it is translated "miracles" in the RV and AV of Luk 23:8; Act 4:16,
    Read   Luke 2:25-35

Luk 11:29 ASV - And when the multitudes were gathering together unto him, he began to say, This generation is an evil generation: it seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it but the sign of Jonah.
Luk 11:30 ASV - For even as Jonah became a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
Mar 8:31 ASV - And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, and the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Luk 22:66 ASV - And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,
Luk 22:67 ASV - If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
Luk 22:68 ASV - and if I ask you, ye will not answer.
Luk 22:69 ASV - But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.
Luk 21:6 ASV - As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Seventy years later  Jerusalem was distroyed and burn to the ground , every stone was thrown down to the ground as Jesus said .     Mat 24:2 ASV - But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.    The number Seventy in bible numerics is Restoration

Cup of Agony

As I read in 1 Peter 2 :24 and come to the word Stripes , I am reminded of Luke 4 :18  Jesus was fulfilling the prophecy of himself as to his going to his cross.  The only way these wonderful prophecy's could be fulfilled is by his crucifixion  and death on the cross . Isaiah 61 and Luke 4:18 .
1Pe 2:21 ASV - For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:

1Pe 2:22 ASV - who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
1Pe 2:23 ASV - who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
1Pe 2:24 ASV - who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.  Stripes
Greek: molops  Stripe:
"a bruise, a wound from a stripe," is used in 1Pe 2:24 (from the Sept. of Isa 53:5), lit., in the original, "by whose bruise," not referring to Christ's scourging, but figurative of the stroke of Divine judgment administered vicariously to Him on the Cross (a comforting reminder to these Christian servants, who were not infrequently buffeted, ver. 20, by their masters).
The Lord reminds me daily of the great and vast amount of people on this earth that suffer this Bruising ,  a terrible spiritual affliction that affects the very heart of the many souls that suffers this .  A situation that can only be healed by the blood of Jesus .  Jesus said a body thou hast made for me
Heb 10:4 ASV - For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
Heb 10:5 ASV - Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not,    But a body didst thou prepare for me;

Heb 10:6 ASV - In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure:
Luk 4:17 ASV - And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And he opened the book, and found the place where it was written,  Jesus in his deity suffered the shame of the cross and only Jesus could take away the sin of the world once and for all .  Luk 4:18 ASV - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,    Bruised Greek: thrauo   Bruise:
"to smite through, shatter," is used in Luk 4:18, "them that are bruised," i.e., broken by calamity.
Luk 4:19 ASV - To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luk 4:20 ASV - And he closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down: and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.
Luk 4:21 ASV - And he began to say unto them, To-day hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.
Today the scripture became life ever lasting , and he said to all that hear this word having ears to hear it will become life to them .   Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God  .                     For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.  Romans 12 : 1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.   And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

I am remembering a verse where a mother came to Jesus with her two sons and ask that they be seated with Christ in his throne in Gods kingdom .  Matt  20-28     this blog is about our cross we are to bear.  Jesus said we will not be worthy of him if we do not pick up our cross and follow him .   Where is Jesus going that we must follow Jhn 14:4 ASV - And whither I go, ye know the way.Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how know we the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.  We have our own cross to bear , putting to death the deeds of the flesh .  Becoming a living sacrifice unto God Rom 12  -  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.    Jesus said    I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.  1Jo 2:5 ASV - but whoso keepeth his word, in him verily hath the love of God been perfected. Hereby we know that we are in him:  he that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walked.
1Co 15:50 ASV - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.  Jhn 3:6 ASV - That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Rom 8:3 ASV - For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:   Jesus is the example we are to follow he went to his cross and his flesh man became a sacrifice once and for all for the sins of the world . It says he God sent Jesus his only son to this earth in a body like yours and mine to take away our sins in this body of flesh.  We are all born of Adam and his nature into this body of flesh.  He was the first Adam and Jesus became the second Adam , so the word reconciliation come into view here. To be reconciled to some one or something means to have had or now have a relationship with some one or something in the past .  Adam failed God being disobedient to his commandments  . Adam and Eve was cast out of the garden and God put a curse on him and his offspring from that time foward.  Every man born on this earth is born after the loins of Adam we are born of his flesh and of his nature .

Colo 2 :1-15          And you, being dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, you, I say, did he make alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses;   having blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and he hath taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross;  having despoiled the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Isa 53:8 ASV - By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who among them considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due?

Isa 53:9 ASV - And they made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Isa 53:10 ASV - Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.
Hebrew Daka Bruise to crush, be crushed, be contrite, be broken  As I was praying about the understanding to this word and the revelation of its meaning . I saw in the spirit a person holding a Chrystal vase and as I watched they held  out the vase and let it drop it was in slow motion as it it the floor and it exploded into a thousand pieces it went all over the floor . And I heard a voice in my mind say man cannot put this back together again but God in his mercy can , he can restore this broken vessel completely. The vase was the soul of a bruised , crushed person . The world today has so many bruised souls searching for the restoration of their hearts to be truly healed and have that peace that passes all understanding .  Jhn 14:27 ASV - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.   People of every age and walk of life suffer from this crushed spirit. Its called Rejection and this rejection is from satan and it is meant to destroy as many souls as he can before they come to Christ the restorer of your souls by way of his atoning blood .
Jesus is the only remedy for this debilitating spirit ,  he suffered this to bring freedom to all peoples in this world.

2Co 5:18 ASV - But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 ASV - to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Isa 53:11 ASV - He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities.
Isa 53:12 ASV - Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

- Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand .   Every one born of God and knoweth God is that seed , the fruit of Christ the son of God the word made flesh .  Remember Jesus was the sower of the seed of his father he was anointed to bring the good news of his father .  Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son for the sins of the world , Jesus paid your ransom he was sold for thirty pieces of silver . Silver is a type and shadow that  signifies the atoning blood of the Lamb .   Lev 17:11 ASV - For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life.   The number 30  in bible numerics is the Blood of Christ upon the altar .   For it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life.

So by his bruising and being crushed taking the stripes that were meant for us ,   Jesus just before he was betrayed in the garden  Mat 26:39 ASV - And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

The Cup is referring to the Agony he suffered The cup of  Agony:
ag'-o-ni (agonia; Vulgate agonia): A word occurring only once in the New Testament (Lu 22:44), and used to describe the climax of the mysterious soul-conflict and unspeakable suffering of our Lord in the garden at Gethsemane. The term is derived from the Greek agon "contest" and this in turn from the Greek ago "to drive or lead," as in a chariot race. Its root idea is the struggle and pain of the severest athletic contest or conflict.                                                                          Luk 22:42 ASV - saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.  And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.  And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.

1. Physical:
The agony of His soul wrought its pain on His body, until "his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground" (Lu 22:44, omitted by some ancient authorities). He offered His prayers and supplications "with strong crying and tears" (#He 5:7). The intensity of His struggle so distressed and weakened Him that Luke says "there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him." The threefold record of the evangelists conveys the idea of the intensest physical pain. As the wire carries the electric current, so every nerve in Jesus' physical being felt the anguish of His sensitive soul as He took upon Himself the burden of the world's sin and moral evil.
2. Mental:
The crisis of Jesus' career as Messiah and Redeemer came in Gethsemane. The moral issue of His atoning work was intelligently and voluntarily met here. The Gospels exhaust language in attempting to portray the stress and struggle of this conflict. "My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death." "Being in an agony he prayed more earnestly, saying, Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me." The mental clearness of Christ's vision of humanity's moral guilt and the energy of will necessary to meet the issue and take "this cup" of being the world's sin- bearer, indicate the awful sorrow and anguish of His supernatural conflict. It is divinely significant that the word "agony" appears but once in all Scripture. This solitary word records a solitary experience. Only One ever compassed the whole range of the world's sorrow and pain, anguish and agony. The shame of criminal arrest in the garden and of subsequent condemnation and death as a malefactor had to His innocent soul the horror of humanity's entire and ageless guilt. The mental and moral anguish of Jesus in Gethsemane interprets the meaning of Paul's description of the atonement, "Him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf" (2Co 5:21).
3. Spiritual:
The agony of Jesus was supremely within the realm of His spirit. The effect of sin in separating the human soul from God was fathomed by the suffering Saviour in the fathomless mystery of His supernatural sorrow. Undoubtedly the anguish of Gethsemane surpassed the physical torture of Calvary. The whole conflict was wrought out here. Jesus' filial spirit, under the burden of the world's guilt, felt isolated from the Father. This awful, momentary seclusion from His Father's face constituted the "cup" which He prayed might pass from Him, and the "agony" of soul, experienced again on the cross, when He felt that God had forsaken Him.
Rom 8:3 ASV - For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
2Ti 3:1 ASV - But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come.    For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof: from these also turn away.

The last days are upon us and we must see that time is short as to our believing and living this word of God .  1Jo 2:15 ASV - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye heard that antichrist cometh, even now have there arisen many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last hour.

You must be born again my friend  born of the water and of the spirit ,  just as Jesus spoke to his disciples in Mark 16-15-20  To be filled with the holy spirit as in the book of Acts 2-38  it is just as real today as in that day . With out repentance no man shall see God to turn from your sins and walk towards the cross of Christ .  Jesus  said that he prayed to his father that he would give the promise of his spirit to all that believed a helper a comforter .   This word says it is real and for today the world says it is not . Who do you believe Christ or this lost world.
Luk 24:49 ASV - And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high.   Luk 24:49 KJV - And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. Endued   Greek: enduo
Clothe:  (Eng., "endue"), signifies "to enter into, get into," as into clothes, "to put on," e.g., Mar 1:6; Luk 8:27 (in the best mss.); 24:49 (AV, "endued"); 2Cr 5:3; Rev 1:13; 19:14. to put on oneself, be clothed with," is used metaphorically of power, Luk 24:49, RV, "clothed.
Act 14:21 ASV - And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antioch,
Act 14:22 ASV - confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.

Greek: thlipsis  Tribulations     Afflict (-ed), Affliction:
primarily means "a pressing, pressure" (see A, No. 4), anything which burdens the spirit. In two passages in Paul's Epistles it is used of future retribution, in the way of "affliction," Rom 2:9; 2Th 1:6. In Mat 24:9, the AV renders it as a verb, "to be afflicted," (RV, "unto tribulation"). It is coupled with stenochoria, "anguish," in Rom 2:9; 8:35; with ananke, "distress," 1Th 3:7; with diogmos, "persecution," Mat 13:21; Mar 4:17; 2Th 1:4. It is used of the calamities of war, Mat 24:21, 29; Mar 13:19, 24; of want, 2Cr 8:13, lit., "distress for you;" Phl 4:14 (cp. Phl 1:16); Jam 1:27; of the distress of woman in child-birth, Jhn 16:21; of persecution, Act 11:19; 14:22; 20:23; 1Th 3:3, 7; Hbr 10:33; Rev 2:10; 7:14; of the "afflictions" of Christ, from which (His vicarious sufferings apart) his followers must not shrink, whether sufferings of body or mind, Col 1:24; of sufferings in general, 1Cr 7:28; 1Th 1:6, etc.

Mat 26:39 ASV - And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Greek: poterion  Cup:    figurative, of one's lot or experience, joyous or sorrowful (frequent in the Psalms; cp. Psa 116:18, "cup of salvation"); in the NT it is used most frequently of the sufferings of Christ, Mat 20:22, 23; 26:39; Mar 10:38, 39; 14:36; Luk 22:42; Jhn 18:11
Mat 20:21 ASV - And he said unto her, What wouldest thou? She saith unto him, Command that these my two sons may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy kingdom.
Mat 20:22 ASV - But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink? They say unto him, We are able.
Mat 20:23 ASV - He saith unto them, My cup indeed ye shall drink: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left hand, is not mine to give; but it is for them for whom it hath been prepared of my Father.
1Co 5:7 KJV - Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
My cup indeed ye shall drink: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left hand, is not mine to give; but it is for them for whom it hath been prepared of my Father.    We have a spiritual  cross to bear my friend .   Jesus accomplish the physcial now we accomplish the spiritual ! It is Christ in you the hope of glory seeing Jesus in that mirror not our flesh .
