Having Committed Unto Us The Word Of Reconciliation.

Mat 7:22 ASV - Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works?
Mat 7:23 ASV - And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Mat 7:24 ASV - Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock:

Luk 13:30 ASV - And behold, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last.
Greek: eschatos

LAST   /   in the greek
End, Ending:
"last, utmost, extreme," is used as a noun

(a) of time, rendered "end" in Hbr 1:2, RV, "at the end of these days," i.e., at the "end" of the period under the Law, for AV, "in these last days;" so in 1Pe 1:20, "at the end of the times." In 2Pe 2:20, the plural, ta eschata, lit., "the last things," is rendered "the latter end," AV, (RV, "the last state"); the same phrase is used in Mat 12:45; Luk 11:26;

In Mat 24:31, the prepositions apo, "from," and heos, "unto," are used with the plural of akros, "highest, extreme," signifying "from one end... to the other," lit., "from extremities... to extremities."

Luk 13:25 ASV - When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us; and he shall answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are;
Luk 13:27 ASV - and he shall say, I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.   Luke 13: 27  AMP       But He will say, I tell you, I do not know where [[n]what household—certainly not Mine] you come from; depart from Me, all you wrongdoers!

 Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that Believe On His Name.    Meaning of  the word   Name in Greek: Onoma           for all that a "name" implies, of authority, character, rank, majesty, power, excellence, etc., of everything that the "name" covers: representing the authority of Christ, e.g., Mat 18:5 (with epi, "on the ground of My authority"); so Mat 24:5 (falsely) and parallel passages; as substantiated by the Father, Jhn 14:26; 16:23   Many times in scripture Jesus speaks in my Name they shall ,  so we see the power of his name is in our faith our works the fruit of our works by faith . Its not just speaking the name of Jesus it is manifesting the power of his name of authority, character, rank, majesty, power, excellence, etc.  He gave us the keys to the kingdom Mat 16:19 ASV - I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.    Key: Greek: kleis    "a key," is used metaphorically
(a) of "the keys of the kingdom of heaven," which the Lord committed to Peter, Mat 16:19, by which he would open the door of faith, as he did to Jews at Pentecost, and to Gentiles in the person of Cornelius, acting as one commissioned by Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit; he had precedence over his fellow disciples, not in authority, but in the matter of time, on the ground of his confession of Christ (Mat 18:16); equal authority was committed to them (Mat 18:18);
Mat 18:18 ASV - Verily I say unto you, what things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and what things soever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Mat 18:19 ASV - Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven.
Mat 18:20 ASV - For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Jhn 14:26 ASV - But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.   The verse below confirms this wonderful truth , we were all born of the loins of Adam born unto sin and the curse of sin with no hope in this world.  Jesus being the last Adam restored back unto his father the kingdom God intended for his church that Adam lost through sin .  The Holy Spirit is that power in his name to bind and to loose to pull down mighty strongholds .  Eph 6:12 ASV - For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Jesus said  Jhn 6:53 ASV - Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in yourselves.
Jhn 6:54 ASV - He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jhn 6:55 ASV - For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
Jhn 6:56 ASV - He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him.
Jhn 6:57 ASV - As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live because of me.  Eateth in Greek    metaphorically of the habit of spiritually feeding upon Christ, Jhn 6:54, 56-58

1Co 15:45 ASV - So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
1Co 15:46 ASV - Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual.
1Co 15:47 ASV - The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.
1Co 15:48 ASV - As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
1Co 15:49 ASV - And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that Believe On His Name.
Jhn 1:13 ASV - who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Jhn 1:14 ASV - And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.
Jhn 1:15 ASV - John beareth witness of him, and crieth, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that cometh after me is become before me: for he was before me.
Jhn 14:16 ASV - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,
Jhn 14:17 ASV - even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you.
Jhn 14:18 ASV - I will not leave you desolate: I come unto you.   Discerning the body of Jesus is the power to overcome in this world .  He said this bread is my body broken for you ,  we eat his flesh by feeding on his word daily and consuming his life through his word to drink his blood is to manifest his nature through his word . The fruit of the spirit is Jesus and his nature
 2Pe 1:4 ASV - whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in that world by lust.
2Pe 1:5 ASV - Yea, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply virtue; and in your virtue knowledge;
2Pe 1:6 ASV - and in your knowledge self-control; and in your self-control patience; and in your patience godliness;
2Pe 1:7 ASV - and in your godliness brotherly kindness; and in your brotherly kindness love.
2Pe 1:8 ASV - For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful unto the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luk 13:23 ASV - And one said unto him, Lord, are they few that are saved? And he said unto them,
Luk 13:24 ASV - Strive to enter in by the narrow door: for many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Luk 13:25 ASV - When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us; and he shall answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are;  Luke 13: 25 AMP    When once the Master of the house gets up and closes the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door [again and again], saying, Lord, open to us! He will answer you, I do not know where [[m]what household—certainly not Mine] you come from.   Jesus is saying here to be in the household of God you must be born again of his spirit . Jesus speaks many times of your cross and the death of the flesh the carnal man and to be born again of his spirit    Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:   To become a child of God you must be born again into the household of God lose you life in this earth and be born again.
Jhn 1:13 ASV - who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  We were born of the blood of our natural fathers of their will of their flesh born of Adams blood , when we are born of God we lose our identity to this word and are reborn by his spirit into newness of life .   Rom 6:4 ASV - We were buried therefore with him through baptism unto death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.    2Co 5:17 ASV - Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.

Luk 8:16 ASV - And no man, when he hath lighted a lamp, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but putteth it on a stand, that they that enter in may see the light.  The truth of the gospel is that light Jhn 1:9 ASV - There was the true light, even the light which lighteth every man, coming into the world.  Christ came to preach the gospel of his father the very good news.
Luk 8:17 ASV - For nothing is hid, that shall not be made manifest; nor anything secret, that shall not be known and come to light.  This is in reference to truth and revelation of his word. He is saying here that every mystery of truth will be made manifest in his body of believers.   Only by his Holy Spirit shall we know him by the power of his resurrection and only by his Holy Spirit shall we know the fellowship of his suffering and lastly that you and I are becoming conformed unto his death .
Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more  .   If we are seeing with the eyes of the flesh than that is all we will see flesh.  The disciples came and told Jesus that his family had came and wanted to see him .  Luk 8:20 ASV - And it was told him, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. Luk 8:21 ASV - But he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these that hear the word of God, and do it.  And that is what he is telling you unless you see   with the eyes of the spirit you will not see the light of the word ,   your revelation of him will be carnal and not spiritual.  My mother and my brethren are these that hear the word of God, and do it .     Now we come to the place where Paul is speaking about the body of Christ  .    1Co 11:26 ASV - For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye Proclaim the Lord's death till he
come. Rom 6:5 ASV - For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection;

 Proclaim in the Greek: katangello

Proclaim:
"to declare, proclaim," is translated "to proclaim" in the RV, for AV, to "show," in Act 16:17; 26:23; 1Cr 11:26, where the verb makes clear that the partaking of the elements at the Lord's Supper is a "proclamation" (an evangel) of the Lord's Death; in Rom 1:8, for AV, "spoken of;" in 1Cr 2:1, for AV, "declaring."

1Co 11:27 ASV - Wherefore whosoever shall eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
1Co 11:28 ASV - But let a man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.
1Co 11:29 ASV - For he that eateth and drinketh, eateth and drinketh judgment unto himself, if he discern not the body.
1Co 11:30 ASV - For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.
1Co 11:31 ASV - But if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.   Religion is a deceiver religion has no power or effect on the world it is carnal and powerless to bring eternal life to a man.    If you know your brothers or sisters by their flesh than you are not  discerning the body of Christ in the church .  You have to see the gifts and the ability of the Holy Ghost in the believers or you will miss the truth of this verse of scripture.  If you see Jesus in them you can love them no matter what for they are the whole body of Christ .   Jesus said when you come together wait on one another .

Luk 8:18 ASV - Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he thinketh he hath.
Luk 8:19 ASV - And there came to him his mother and brethren, and they could not come at him for the crowd.
thee.
Luk 8:20 ASV - And it was told him, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see Luk 8:21 ASV - But he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these that hear the word of God, and do it.

FIRST  /   in the Greek
Greek: protos

Best:
is one of two words translated "best" in the AV, but the only one so rendered in the RV. In Luk 15:22 "the best (robe)" is, lit., "the first (robe)," i.e., chief, principal, first in rank or quality.

1Co 11:24 ASV - and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, This is my body, which is for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:25 ASV - In like manner also the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:26 ASV - For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye proclaim the Lord's death till he come.
1Co 11:31 ASV - But if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.

2Co 5:14 ASV - For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died;
2Co 5:15 ASV - and he died for all, that they that live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto him who for their sakes died and rose again.
2Co 5:16 ASV - Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
2Co 5:17 ASV - Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.
2Co 5:18 ASV - But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 ASV - to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
  Reconciliation.          Greek: katallage
Atonement:
translated "atonement" in the AV of Rom 5:11, signifies, not "atonement," but "reconciliation," as in the RV. See also Rom 11:15; 2Cr 5:18, 19. So with the corresponding verb katallasso, See under RECONCILE. "Atonement" (the explanation of this English word as being "at-one-ment" is entirely fanciful) is frequently found in the OT. See, for instance, Leviticus, chapters 16 and 17. The corresponding NT words are hilasmos, "propitiation," 1Jo 2:2; 4:10, and hilasterion, Rom 3:25; Hbr 9:5, "mercy-seat," the covering of the ark of the covenant. These describe the means (in and through the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His death on the Cross by the shedding of His blood in His vicarious sacrifice for sin) by which God shows mercy to sinners.

2 cor 5: 19 AMP    It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).

1Peter 1 AMP
22 Since by your obedience to the Truth through the [Holy] Spirit you have purified your hearts for the sincere affection of the brethren, [see that you] love one another fervently from a pure heart.
23 You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal [d]origin ([e]seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.
24 For all flesh (mankind) is like grass, and all its glory (honor) like [the] flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower drops off,
25 But the Word of the Lord ([f]divine instruction, the Gospel) endures forever. And this Word is the good news which was preached to you.

The Altar A place Of Sacrifice

This verse of scripture has been with me from the beginning of my walk , always realizing the truth   of our calling       Rev 17:14 ASV - These shall war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; And They Also Shall Overcome that are with him, Called and Chosen and Faithful.

Greek: kletos
Call, Called, Calling:
"called, invited," is used,
(a) "of the call of the Gospel," Mat 20:16; 22:14, not there "an effectual call," as in the Epistles, Rom 1:1, 6, 7; 8:28; 1Cr 1:2, 24; Jud 1:1; Rev 17:14; in Rom 1:7; 1Cr 1:2 the meaning is "saints by calling;"

Chosen   Greek: eklektos         The source of their "election" is God's grace, not human will, Eph 1:4, 5; Rom 9:11; 11:5. They are given by God the Father to Christ as the fruit of His death, all being foreknown and foreseen by God, Jhn 17:6; Rom 8:29. While Christ's death was sufficient for all men, and is effective in the case of the "elect," yet men are treated as responsible, being capable of the will and power to choose. For the rendering "being chosen as firstfruits," an alternative reading in 2Th 2:13,

Faithful     Greek: pistos

Belief, Believe, Believers:    (a) in the Active sense means "believing, trusting; Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:   Jhn 1:13 ASV - who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

There are two kinds of Gods people, the called and the elect. All of the elect are called but not all of the called are Elect .  As we see above the word Chosen in Greek is ekelektos.   God puts a calling in a mans life to come to the wedding Feast of the Lamb .   Now in the verse of   Rev 17-14  ,   Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings .   And they also shall over come that are with him.     Being they were called and than chosen because they were Faithful .  Because they believed and were born again
 Jhn 10:16 ASV - And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.
Jhn 10:17 ASV - Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
Jhn 10:18 ASV - No one taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment received I from my Father.  This was the sign of our salvation the sign of Jonah . Three days in the belly of the fish or the earth and on the third day he rose again thus giving those who believe the right to eternal life.   Jesus laid down his flesh body to rise again and so will every saint that abides in and follows him .
Why does he speak so often of your cross and your being faithful to the cross of humility.
 What is our cross for  and why are we to lay down our flesh on this cross or altar.  Because the flesh is an enemy of the cross .     metaph., the cross on which Christ suffered an expiatory death: to eat of this altar i.e. to appropriate to one's self the fruits of Christ's expiatory death .

    Rom 8:5 ASV - For they that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:6 ASV - For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:
Rom 8:7 ASV - because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be:
Rom 8:8 ASV - and they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Rom 8:9 ASV - But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Mat 10:38 ASV - And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:39 ASV - He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Mat 22:2 ASV - The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,
Mat 22:8 ASV - Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they that were bidden were not worthy.  Bidden    Greek: kaleo     Bid, Bidden, Bade, Bid Again:
"to call," often means "to bid," in the sense of "invite," e.g., Mat 22:3, 4, 8, 9; Luk 14:7-10, 13, RV; Rev 19:9  This is the calling of God to the jew and to the gentile ,

Mat 22:9 ASV - Go ye therefore unto the partings of the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage feast.
Mat 22:10 ASV - And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests.
Mat 22:11 ASV - But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment:
Mat 22:12 ASV - and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless.
Mat 22:13 ASV - Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Mat 22:14 ASV - For many are called, but few chosen.

Rev 3:5 ASV - He that overcometh shall thus be arrayed in white garments; and I will in no wise blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

  Rev 19:5 ASV - And a voice came forth from the throne, saying, Give praise to our God, all ye his servants, ye that fear him, the small and the great.
Rev 19:6 ASV - And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunders, saying, Hallelujah: for the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigneth.
Rev 19:7 ASV - Let us rejoice and be exceeding glad, and let us give the glory unto him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Rev 19:8 ASV - And it was given unto her that she should array herself in fine linen, bright and pure: for the fine linen is the Righteous Acts of the saints.   Acts  Greek: dikaioma
Act:
signifies "an act of righteousness, a concrete expression of righteousness
Justification, Justifier, Justify

Phl 2:12 ASV - So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

Fear   Greek: phobos        of God, as a controlling motive of the life, in matters spiritual and moral, not a mere "fear" of His power and righteous retribution, but a wholesome dread of displeasing Him, a "fear" which banishes the terror that shrinks from His presence, Rom 8:15, and which influences the disposition and attitude of one whose circumstances are guided by trust in God, through the indwelling Spirit of God, Act 9:31; Rom 3:18; 2Cr 7:1; Eph 5:21 (RV, "the fear of Christ"); Phl 2:12; 1Pe 1:17 (a comprehensive phrase: the reverential "fear" of God will inspire a constant carefulness in dealing with others in His "fear"); 3:2, 15; the association of "fear and trembling," as e.g., in Phl 2:12, has in the Sept. a much sterner import, e.g., Gen 9:2; Exd 15:16; Deu 2:25; 11:25; Psa 55:5; Isa 19:16;

 Trembling         Greek: tremo

Tremble, Trembling:
"to tremble, especially with fear," is used in Mar 5:33; Luk 8:47 (Act 9:6, in some mss.); 2Pe 2:10, RV, "they tremble (not)," AV, "they are (not) afraid."
Psa 19:9 ASV - The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever: The ordinances of Jehovah are true, and righteous altogether.

Blot  Greek: exaleipho

Blot Out:
from ek, "out," used intensively, and aleipho, "to wipe," signifies "to wash, or to smear completely." Hence, metaphorically, in the sense of removal, "to wipe away, wipe off, obliterate;" Act 3:19, of sins; Col 2:14, of writing; Rev 3:5, of a name in a book; Rev 7:17; 21:4, of tears.

  Luke 13: 23 And someone asked Him, Lord, will only a few be saved (rescued, delivered from the penalties of the last judgment, and made partakers of the salvation by Christ)? And He said to them,

24 Strive to enter by the narrow door [force yourselves through it], for many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.

25 When once the Master of the house gets up and closes the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door [again and again], saying, Lord, open to us! He will answer you, I do not know where [[m]what household—certainly not Mine] you come from.

26 Then you will begin to say, We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.

27 But He will say, I tell you, I do not know where [[n]what household—certainly not Mine] you come from; depart from Me, all you wrongdoers!

 Jhn 1:12 ASV - But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Jhn 1:13 ASV - who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  Born again to newness of life .   The word says if we ask for the Holy Spirit he will give his spirit to you .

Rom 8:11 ASV - But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
