Narrow Is The Way
I am writing today about the freedoms of Christ that come through obedience , Jesus said if you love me you will obey my commandants.
Mat 7:12 KJV - Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Mat 7:13 KJV - Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 KJV - Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. The many and the FEW , just because the world believes something does not make it true what does the word of God say.
NARROW Greek: thlibo
Afflict (-ed), Affliction:
"to suffer affliction, to be troubled," has reference to sufferings due to the pressure of circumstances, or the antagonism of persons, 1Th 3:4; 2Th 1:6, 7; "straitened," in Mat 7:14 (RV); "throng," Mar 3:9; "afflicted," 2Cr 1:6; 7:5 (RV); 1Ti 5:10; Hbr 11:37; "pressed," 2Cr 4:8. Both the verb and the noun (see B, No. 4), when used of the present experience of believers, refer almost invariably to that which comes upon them from without.
Striat Greek: stenos
Narrow:
from a root sten--, seen in stenazo, "to groan," stenagmos, "groaning" (Eng., "stenography," lit., "narrow writing"), is used figuratively in Mat 7:13, 14, of the gate which provides the entrance to eternal life, "narrow" because it runs counter to natural inclinations, and "the way" is similarly characterized; so in Luk 13:24 (where the more intensive word agonizomai, "strive," is used); RV, "narrow" (AV, "strait") in each place. Cp. stenochoreo, "to be straitened," and stenochoria, "narrowness, anguish, distress."
GATE
(b) metaphorically, of the "gates" at the entrances of the ways leading to life and to destruction, Mat 7:13, 14; some mss. have pule, for thura, "a door," in Luk 13:24 (see the RV); of the "gates" of Hades, Mat 16:18, than which nothing was regarded as stronger. The importance and strength of "gates" made them viewed as synonymous with power. By metonymy, the "gates" stood for those who held government and administered justice there.
Jam 2:14 ASV - What doth it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but have not works? can that faith save him?
Mat 5:23 ASV - If therefore thou art offering thy gift at the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee,
Mat 5:24 ASV - leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Mat 23:18 ASV - And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, he is a debtor.
Altar in Greek
Greek: thusiasterion
Altar:
probably the neuter of the adjective thusiasterios, is derived from thusiazo, "to sacrifice." Accordingly it denotes an "altar" for the sacrifice of victims, though it was also used for the "altar" of incense, e.g., Luk 1:11. In the NT this word is reserved for the "altar" of the true God, Mat 5:23, 24; 23:18-20, 35; Luk 11:51; 1Cr 9:13; 10:18, in contrast to bomos, No. 2, below. In the Sept. thusiasterion is mostly, but not entirely, used for the divienely appointed altar; it is used for idol "altars," e.g., in Jdg 2:2; 6:25; 2Ki 16:10.
metaph., the cross on which Christ suffered an expiatory death: to eat of this altar i.e. to appropriate to one's self the fruits of Christ's expiatory death .
Mat 15:8 ASV - This people honoreth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me.
The signs of the times spoken in Matt 24 is upon the earth today. God is saying now is the time to search your souls for truth, and see how you are living in this earth today. 2Cr 7:10 ASV - For godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation, a repentance which bringeth no regret: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. Greek: metanoia
Repent, Repentance: In the NT the subject chiefly has reference to "repentance" from sin, and this change of mind involves both a turning from sin and a turning to God. The parable of the Prodigal Son is an outstanding illustration of this. Christ began His ministry with a call to "repentance," Mat 4:17, but the call is addressed, not as in the OT to the nation, but to the individual. In the Gospel of John, as distinct from the Synoptic Gospels, referred to above, "repentance" is not mentioned, even in connection with John the Baptist's preaching; in John's Gospel and 1st Epistle the effects are stressed, e.g., in the new birth, and, generally, in the active turning from sin to God by the exercise of faith (Jhn 3:3; 9:38; 1Jo 1:9), as in the NT in general.
John had to come before Jesus could come , bring the mountains low and filling every valley. Mat 11:11 ASV - Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not arisen a greater than John the Baptist: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. With out repentance no man will see God and John brought repentance to the world, before John was sent man was doomed to die in their sins. And the law could not save mankind, for mans flesh is weak. And every one that adheres to the word of reconciliation and repents is greater than John.
Seeing this word in the spirit and not the Letter.
Hbr 12:14 KJV - Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Hbr 12:15 KJV - Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Easu was bitter and not able to forgive Jacob. This is where repentance works in us. Its not about you being done wrong or some one speaking evil of you or falsely accusing you .Or some one taking your inheritance away. For give us of our debts as we forgive our debtors, people who do not fall at the feet of Jesus and seek true repentance will lose their life because they will not submit to Gods word. Easu did not need his inheritance until it was gone .
Hbr 12:16 KJV - Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 1Jo 2:15 ASV - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jo 2:16 ASV - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vain glory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jo 2:17 ASV - And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1Jo 2:18 ASV - Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye heard that antichrist cometh, even now have there arisen many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last hour.
2Jo 1:8 ASV - Look to yourselves, that ye lose not the things which we have wrought, but that ye receive a full reward. So we see here that the only guarantee in this life of being brought into the kingdom of God is through obedience to Gods word.
2Jo 1:9 ASV - Whosoever goeth onward and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not God: he that abideth in the teaching, the same hath both the Father and the Son.
It says Goeth onward and abideth not in the teachings or the gospel of God. Any other teaching is not the doctrine of the apostles therefore it is a false doctrine.
1Cr 15:24 ASV - Then cometh the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power. The kingdom will already be established before we meet him in the air. The only way to have a kingdom is to have a king. And Jesus told Pilate , my kingdom is not of this earth . So who is king of this earth right now the word also calls him the prince of the earth. Satan told Jesus the earth has been given to me Luk 4:6 ASV - And the devil said unto him, To thee will I give all this authority, and the glory of them: for it hath been delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. There has to be a separation now in this life you live, it will not come any other way. Jhn 14:4 ASV - And whither I go, ye know the way.
Jhn 14:6 ASV - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.
1Cr 15:47 ASV - The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.
1Cr 15:48 ASV - As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
1Cr 15:49 ASV - And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
1Cr 15:50 ASV - Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Cr 15:53 ASV - For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Cr 15:54 ASV - But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. Jesus died in his flesh on his cross as an example, so that we might die to our-self's our carnal nature this old man of sin on this earth. Hbr 12:14 ASV - Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord: Jesus said be ye holy as your father in heaven is holy. This is where Jesus spoke of a house being built on sand and when tribulation comes , it has no foundation and it fell and great was the fall of it. Jesus said a house divided against itself can not stand . You can not serve two masters. There will be no half white half black Christians in Gods kingdom Jhn 12:48 ASV - He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day. The truth is settled already, this word will judge us in the end. 2Cr 5:10 ASV - For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it be good or bad.Rom 6:1 ASV - What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?Rom 6:5 ASV - For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection . Rom 6:6 ASV - knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin;
Rom 6:12 ASV - Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof:
Rom 6:13 ASV - neither present your members unto sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Rom 6:23 ASV - For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rom 8:2 ASV - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
Hard times like no other are coming upon the earth man kind is seeing this and asking questions . Tribulation is coming to Gods people because of his mercy and his love for his church. Only than will a man realize his weakness and inability to save himself. Jesus said Mat 24:6 ASV - And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 ASV - For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.
Mat 24:8 ASV - But all these things are the beginning of travail.
Mat 24:9 ASV - Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake.
Mat 24:13 ASV - But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.
Mat 24:14 ASV - And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.
This word is to every believer and to all that look for his coming .
Rom 12:1 ASV - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.
Rom 12:2 ASV - And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
The word of God will renew your mind and bring you into his kingdom , 1Cr 2:16 ASV - For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
We are being transformed daily into the mind of Christ , having the character and the very nature the authority of God in us. Rom 8:6 ASV - For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:
Rom 8:7 ASV - because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be:
Rom 8:8 ASV - and they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Rom 8:9 ASV - But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
You are not a sinner saved by grace. we were delivered from the Law of sin and death we do not have to sin any longer . It says we were save by Gods grace and it is a gift of FAITH.
Hbr 4:2 ASV - For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.
You must mix this word of God with faith , for with out faith it is impossible to please God
Hbr 11:6 ASV - And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing unto him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.
