Mark 16:20 Confirming The Word By The Signs That Followed

1Co 1:21 ASV - For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe.
1Co 1:22 ASV - Seeing that Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom:  The signs and the wonders Jesus performed in his three years walking the earth were to those that believed .
It says that when he entered into his home town that not many signs and wonders were done because they believed not in him.  The Jews in this verse were the same Jews as the parable of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus Luke 16:19 .  The rich man died and the beggar was carried by angels to the bosom of Abraham . The story here says that the rich was in torment constantly and the place he was at was very hot . We can assume he was not in paradise as the beggar .
The rich man saw the beggar in the bosom of Abraham and ask for water on his tongue , but there was a great gulf between the two .  The bible says that the saints of God shall see the torment of the wicked in revelations , separated by a great gulf of space.   The rich man than ask Abraham to send this beggar man , though he be dead to the world that he go to his brothers to confirm there is a hell and it is consumed with fire . He said if a dead man should rise and go to them surely they will believe and turn from their wicked ways.    He wanted a sign to be sent to his brothers to convince them to turn from their sin.   Luk 16:29   But Abraham saith, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Abraham was saying only by hearing and obeying the word of God shall a man be saved .  By the foolishness of preaching   1Co 1:21 ASV - For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe.  Signs and wonders confirm the word of God and its power. God in his mercy performs his word over people,   we are saved by grace and it is the gift of faith in which we believe his word. 
Jas 1:21 ASV - Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.  AMP James 1-  21 So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls.   Col 1:26 ASV - even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,
Col 1:27 ASV - to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ In You, the hope of glory:   Rom 8:9 ASV - But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  

 Luk 16:30 ASV - And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one go to them from the dead, they will repent.  No father Abraham not the word of God !  but send a sign and may be they will repent ,
Luk 16:31 ASV - And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if one rise from the dead.  Jesus was that sign he was that Lamb of sacrifice, the gospel is the power of God.  Rom 1:16 ASV - For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
1Co 1:18 ASV - For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God.  Signs and wonders are a results of faith to them that believe . The rich man did not believe the power of Gods word to save .  And the word was made flesh and dwelled among us   Jhn 1:14 ASV - And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

Mar 16:17 ASV - And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues;   Signs are a gift to those that believe ,  in his name shall they come .  I am saying that God can do what ever he pleases and perform his word over those that come to him in any way he chooses but the word of God here states that by faith mountains shall be moved.    Jhn 6:29 ASV - Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Jhn 20:31 ASV - but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.  Jesus said the only sign you will receive is the sign of Jonah ,  What was the sign of Jonah he came preaching the word of God to the Ninevites and they believed and were spared by God.  There was no signs given through Jonah
they believed the word of Jonah and were spared .  
Jhn 5:39 ASV - Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;
Jhn 5:40 ASV - and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.
Jhn 5:43 ASV - I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Jhn 5:44 ASV - How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that cometh from the only God ye seek not?
Jhn 5:46 ASV - For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me.
Jhn 5:47 ASV - But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?  God sent his son as a sign to you and I  he died and rose again to resurrected life .   
1Jo 5:13 ASV - These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God.   His name Greek Onoma the character the nature and the Authority all that he is that is what will save us in the end. You must live that name and manifest that name all the signs and all the promises are wrapped up in the power of his name Jesus .  Its not saying his name only its living his name in you . All the gifts he has given to the church for the perfection of the church .  The men of Sceva Acts 19: 14-16   had heard the name of Jesus but had no relationship with him  they did not believe in his power to save.  I will tell you the devil also knows who is of Christ who is a child of God with power.  Jesus I know and Paul I know but who are you !! Its not saying the name its Christ in you the hope of Glory.      Mar 16:20 ASV - And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.

Mat 12:39 ASV - But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet:
We have Christ preached to us daily and it is by that preaching we are saved . Jonah performed not one sign in his preaching to Nineveh he spoke only the word of God given to him .
Luk 11:32 ASV - The men of Nineveh shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, a greater than Jonah is here.

2Pe 1:18 ASV - and this voice we ourselves heard borne out of heaven, when we were with him in the holy mount.
2Pe 1:19 ASV - And we have the word of prophecy made more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts:



1Co 1:23 ASV - but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness;
1Co 1:24 ASV - but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
1Co 1:25 ASV - Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1Co 1:26 ASV - For behold your calling, brethren, that not many wise after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:  The men Jesus called as disciples were common working men of that day uneducated men God chose these men to prove it is God power at work . It was and it is the power of his spirit that manifest his righteousness .       Tit 3:5 ASV - not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

Eph 5:25 ASV - Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;
Eph 5:26 ASV - that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,
Eph 5:27 ASV - that he might present the church to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.    The word of God wash's and cleanses us from all defilement .     2Co 7:1 ASV - Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

1Co 1:27 ASV - but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise; and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;
1Co 1:28 ASV - and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are:
1Co 1:29 ASV - that no flesh should glory before God.
1Co 1:30 ASV - But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:
1Co 1:31 ASV - that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
