A Wedding Invitation
Invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb
Mat 22:8 ASV - Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they that were bidden were not worthy. This is a serious thing here as we see what happens to a man that turns down the invitation of God to come into the kingdom of God . They were bidden and in the parable we can see God sent his servants to preach the gospel to his people , they stoned and beat and killed his servants remember Stephen . But not all turn down the invitation to come to the marriage feast of the Lamb . But those that refused Christ Luk 13:33 ASV - Nevertheless I must go on my way to-day and to-morrow and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
Luk 13:34 ASV - O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her own brood under her wings, and ye would not!
Luk 13:35 ASV - Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Only through the true gospel can they return unto God , Repent and be baptized and receive the gift of Holy Ghost.
Mat 10:5 ASV - These twelve Jesus sent forth, and charged them, saying, Go not into any way of the Gentiles, and enter not into any city of the Samaritans:
Mat 10:6 ASV - but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mat 10:7 ASV - And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mat 10:8 ASV - Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons: freely ye received, freely give.
The word Bidden or Bid to come Greek: kaleo
Call, Called, Calling:
derived from the root kal--, whence Eng. "call" and "clamour" (see B and C, below), is used
(a) with a personal object, "to call anyone, invite, summon," e.g., Mat 20:8; 25:14; it is used particularly of the Divine call to partake of the blessings of redemption, e.g., Rom 8:30; 1Cr 1:9; 1Th 2:12; Hbr 9:15
Worthy Greek: axios
Meet (Adjective and Verb):
has the meaning of being of "weight, value, worth;" also "befitting, becoming, right on the ground of fitness," e.g., Mat 3:8, AV, "meet" (RV, "worthy"); so Act 26:20; Luk 3:8 ("worthy"); 23:41 ("due reward").
Mat 22:9 ASV - Go ye therefore unto the partings of the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage feast. Jesus said he was sent first to the lost house of Israel But it says they were found unworthy . Those that disbelieved were rejected. And we must first remember that a parable is for all of us it takes in the whole scope of the called . Rom 11:23 ASV - And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
Rom 11:24 ASV - For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
We were the ones of the parting of the highways and as many as you find BID THEM TO COME !
God sent Paul to the gentiles and this is where we received our invitation , our calling to come to the marriage feast of the Lamb. The gospel is preached to us
Col 1:25 ASV - whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you-ward, to fulfil the word of God,
Col 1:26 ASV - even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,
Col 1:27 ASV - to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Col 1:28 ASV - whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ;
Mat 22:8 ASV - Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they that were bidden were not worthy.
Mat 22:9 ASV - Go ye therefore unto the partings of the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage feast. Bid Greek: kaleo
Bid, Bidden, Bade, Bid Again:
"to call," often means "to bid," in the sense of "invite
Mat 22:10 ASV - And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests. I have read this many times and always wondered at the ones they invited both Good and Bad . I said Lord how is it the man at the wedding feast that had not a wedding garment was Rejected and cast out.
It came to me than, because only those that were called or invited and excepted the invitation will be able to enter the marriage feast of the lamb . Rev 17:14 ASV - These shall war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they also shall overcome that are with him, called and chosen and faithful. Jesus said if you have faith to believe your can cast this mountain into the sea , Faith is the substance to overcome in these last days .

Regeneration:
"new birth" (palin, "again," genesis, "birth"), is used of "spiritual regeneration," Tts 3:5, involving the communication of a new life, the two operating powers to produce which are "the word of truth," Jam 1:18; 1Pe 1:23, and the Holy Spirit, Jhn 3:5, 6; the loutron, "the laver, the washing," is explained in Eph 5:26, "having cleansed it by the washing (loutron) of water with the word."
